Milford getting ready for RAGBRAI

MILFORD, Iowa (KCAU) — RAGBRAI is just three months away, and towns along this year's route are busy getting ready to host thousands of cyclists from around the world. One of those towns is Milford, Iowa. Milford is the first overnight town on the route, and this is the first time the town has hosted RAGBRAI. The town is planning on having the bikers stay at three city parks in town, and they are also in the process of getting permission from private landowners to let the bikers camp on private land. Downtown Milford will also be closed from 8th Street to 13th Street along Highway 71. Mid America Museum announces upcoming events The town is looking forward to showing thousands of guests what Milford has to offer. 'This is an opportunity for people to stop, get to see what we have and what we can offer in the city of Milford, and hopefully it will be a big boost for our downtown businesses,' Mayor Steve Anderson said. 'Everything we're focusing, all the entertainment and that stuff in the downtown area and giving them an opportunity to show what they can do as well.' The Milford RAGBRAI Committee has revealed the entertainment for the stop. Rock a la Carte will open for The Schmidt Brothers.
