219 ILP violators externed from Itanagar Capital Region
Itanagar: As many as 219 individuals without valid Inner Line Permits (ILPs) were externed from the Itanagar Capital Region on Friday, police said. The violators were detected during an enforcement drive conducted by Naharlagun police across Papu Hills, Naharlagun, Nirjuli, and Banderdewa, as part of the ongoing initiative to uphold the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, Naharlagun SP Mihin Gambo said. "Each case was verified and processed under non-FIR provisions, and the violators were handed over to the executive magistrate. They were subsequently externed from the Capital Region," he said. Highlighting the growing number of ILP violations in the Itanagar Capital Region, particularly at markets, construction sites, and commercial establishments, the SP urged residents and employers not to engage outsiders lacking valid ILPs. "Regular ILP enforcement drives will continue in the coming days. All non-Arunachali individuals must carry valid ILP documents at all times and cooperate with the authorities," the SP added.

Police intensify ILP checking
Itanagar: Arunachal Police on Thursday conducted intensified Inner Line Permit (ILP) checking drives across Naharlagun, Nirjuli, Papu Hills and Banderdewa under Itanagar Capital Region, reports Joken Ete. Naharlagun SP Mihin Gambo said documents of visitors were thoroughly verified. Several violations were detected and legal action were initiated under the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation, he said.

Four arrested for highway robbery in Itanagar
Itanagar: Police have arrested four persons suspected to be involved in highway robbery from various places in Itanagar Capital Region recently. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Unidentified robbers on two-wheelers chased people and on the pretext of checking Inner Line Permit and other illegal substances, robbed them of their hard-earned money by brandishing daggers, Naharlagun SP Mihin Gambo said on Saturday. He said two FIRs were registered at Banderdewa PS under Section 309 (4)/3(5) BNS. The SP constituted a dedicated investigation team comprising of sub-inspector Koj Tada and others under the supervision of Naharlagun SDPO Rishi Longdo to trace the highway robbers. The accused are identified as Patey Bagang (19), Tadar Rar (24), Ngurang Tako (23), a and Tabia Kapa (27).

Drug addict, 2 peddlers arrested in Itanagar
Itanagar: Police in Naharlagun arrested a drug addict near Kankar Nallah Bridge on Sunday. A police team led by Naharlagun PS officer-in-charge K Dev and others under the supervision of Naharlagun SP Mihin Gambo and SDPO Rishi Longdo arrested the addict, a senior police official said on Monday. During interrogation, the addict revealed the source of the drugs, Gambo said. Based on the input, a police team conducted a raid at Lower Model Village, which resulted in the arrest of two drug peddlers — Techi Lez (30), a resident of Lekhi and Tana Jamja (28), a resident of Doimukh. During the search conducted in presence of executive magistrate Khoda Bath, the police recovered 16 vials of heroin weighing 20.9 grams, 11 empty vials, packaging materials and Rs 7,060, suspected to be proceeds of drug sales. The items were seized according to the provisions of the NDPS Act , the SP said. He said a case has been registered at Naharlagun PS and both the drug peddlers have been arrested and that further investigation is in progress.
