PGA Tour Takes Dig at Celtics After Loss Against Knicks

The New York Knicks overcame a 20-point deficit to beat the Boston Celtics 91-90 Wednesday night, fueled by Mikal Bridges' 14 fourth-quarter points, Jalen Brunson's 17 and a game-sealing steal. The PGA Tour mocked their fourth-quarter collapse, posting a clip of Masters Champion Rory McIlroy on X, sitting a few feet from a standard waste basket, perfectly tossing a paper ball into it and celebrating with a fist pump. Advertisement They captioned it, "What the Celtics needed in the 4th quarter last night," trolling the Greens. The team converted just 5-for-24 shots, only shooting 21% in the fourth quarter. The Celtics are down by two in the series. "Two games we're up 20 points somehow end up not with wins is inexcusable," Jaylen Brown said. "Obviously being down two, it sucks." Head coach Joe Mazulla believes that they can tie the series back up again. "They made every play... I thought we generated some good looks and then I thought we had some live-ball turnovers and they took advantage of it, so they made the necessary plays to win," said Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla. "We put ourselves in position and we just didn't make the plays." "We've got to make sure we're ready to come out for Game 3. I think we're due for a lot of makes. I think we had a lot of great shots tonight that didn't go in. We've just got to relax, take a deep breath and play Celtics basketball. Just like we're down 0-2, we can tie this thing back up," he added. NBA fans trolled the Celtics for blowing yet another 20-point playoff lead to the Knicks

The Boston Celtics are fading fast in their second-round 2025 NBA playoff series with the New York Knicks. For a second-straight game, the Celtics blew a 20-point lead on Wednesday night at home to lose to New York at the buzzer. New York forward Mikal Bridges' clutch steals have capped those incredible Knicks comebacks, putting his team ahead with a 2-0 series lead against Boston. Advertisement What's worse for the Celtics is that both of these losses came at TD Garden, and now Boston will have to play the next two games on the road at Madison Square Garden in front of a proudly raucous New York crowd. It's always tough to blow leads like this, but it's also the Celtics we're talking about. NBA fans had no problem clowning the defending champs for their recent streak of misfortunes. As we see time and time again, blowing a lead will bring out the trolling. This article originally appeared on For The Win: NBA fans trolled the Celtics for blowing yet another 20-point playoff lead
