There's more to Disneyland than its theme parks.
Disneyland's Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! ride will close in early 2026.
The ride's closure will make way for a new "Avatar"-themed land in Disney California Adventure Park.
A new "Coco"-themed attraction is also planned for the park, with construction starting this fall.
Mike and Sulley's days are numbered at Disneyland.
Disney California Adventure Park's Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! attraction, based on the beloved Disney and Pixar film, will close to make room for the park's upcoming Avatar destination. The dark ride will shutter in early 2026, Disneyland Resort announced Thursday.
Disneyland did not share a specific closing date. Part of Disney California Adventure's Hollywood Backlot area will be reimagined for the new Avatar area.
Inspired by multiple 'Avatar' films, guests will get to experience a different part of Pandora than at Animal Kingdom's Pandora – The World of Avatar. The project is 'still in the early stages of development' with more details – including a construction timeline – to come, a Disney Parks Blog post read.

Disneyland also said its upcoming 'Coco' attraction – the first at any Disney park – will be located near Disney California Adventure's Pixar Pier and Paradise Gardens Park. The areas that will house the ride 'are predominantly backstage today,' the blog post said.
Construction is scheduled to start this fall.
As part of the resort's expansion – including its Avengers Campus, which will double in size with two new attractions – additional parking and transportation options will be added on Disneyland Resort's east side.
'This new area will provide approximately 6,000 parking spaces, shuttle and rideshare areas, security screening and dedicated access for traffic off of Disney Way, improving parking and traffic flow throughout the resort area,' the blog post said. Construction on those features will begin in the fall of 2026.
