Jeep Junkies hold annual event to support breast cancer research
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— You may see a bunch of Jeeps around the valley this weekend.
That's because the Wabash Valley Jeep Junkies is holding its annual Going Topless for Pink event that supports breast cancer research. Hundreds of jeeps participate by stopping by different businesses around the community.
There are several activities and silent auctions throughout the day. All the money raised goes towards Pink of Terre Haute.
'Everyone knows somebody who's going through this fight,' said Mike Latta, Organizer of Going Topless for Pink. 'Last year we had 36 survivors and fighters that were currently fighting breast cancer, and our parade that we do on Saturday morning, I'm telling you it's an emotional thing. It's emotional for them, it's emotional for us to let them know that they don't fight alone, that we have their back.'
The event began today and continues tomorrow.
