Revealed: How troubled NFL star Tyreek Hill is tackling off-field woes amid explosive divorce dispute with influencer wife
NFL phenom Tyreek Hill is attempting to move forward from a troubling offseason that includes an explosive divorce dispute by going to therapy and church more often. Hill spoke publicly for the first time since the end of the Dolphins' season in January, where he took himself off the field against the New York Jets before the end of the game and then appeared to request a trade after the game. Hill has walked back that desire, with head coach Mike McDaniel showing public displeasure for the way the speedy wide receiver handled his business. The 31-year-old's offseason hit a climax last month when police were called to his home during a domestic dispute with his then-wife, influencer Keeta Vaccaro. She has since filed for divorce from Hill. 'It's tough. Only thing I'm going to say is, man, money is a crazy thing for a lot of people,' Hill said. 'But I mean for me, we just going to let the details just handle itself, you know what I'm saying? Because at the end of the day, the truth always comes out, right?' 'My job is just to be a great father to all of my kids and be the best player I can be and be the best leader I can be for these guys in this locker room, man. So, I'm going to stand strong on that and I'm going to stand firm on that.' Hill also spoke on him wanting to be traded and where his current status with the Dolphins resides. 'It was tough, man,' Hill added. 'Obviously emotions were high then, but at the end of the day, I'm just looking to move forward from that, hoping that I can prove myself and prove to my teammates that I'm still one of them ones, man, who's chasing 2K [receiving yards], still one of those ones chasing playoff dreams and all of that great stuff.' After missing the postseason, it is clear Hill has changed things only as the AFC gets more stacked around Miami. 'I'm doing more,' Hill said. 'So just being more involved in that and then just understanding what coach is trying to do. I feel like when I first got here, I wouldn't say that I wasn't all the way bought in, but me having, me having a better understanding of what [McDaniel is] trying to push throughout the locker room, I feel like now I understand him better.' 'I understand Tua [Tagovailoa] better. I understand Bev [quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator Darrell Bevell]; our new receiver coach - me and him clicked immediately when he got here. Everybody's on the same page, man.' Robert Prince, the new wide receiver's coach in Miami, has praised Hill for how he has led the room since his arrival, including taking out the position group at the start of the Dolphins' offseason program. Whether therapy and his faith will help Hill become the near-MVP winner he was in 2023 is unclear. However, he seems focused on regaining that form.

Miami Dolphins seek 'new identity' for 2025, but what is it?
MIAMI GARDENS — It's about action, more than words, Miami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel will tell you. But the words do set the tone. And for McDaniel and the Dolphins, it seems there's been an intentional shift in tone. Advertisement The Dolphins have had talent. Pro Bowlers. All-Pros. Mega-contracts. But not enough winning. No playoff wins, actually. And so when McDaniel met with the team before what might be a little harder spring and summer of work, he set a tone with the players. "Just like, we got to kind of get a new identity," veteran Dolphins cornerback Kader Kohou said at the start of organized team activities. "And there's not gonna be a lot of slack and stuff like that. Everybody has to be on their s---, really." McDaniel is not a tough guy/disciplinarian/dictator. But it's clear he wants to set a new tone. Words are words are words, but... Advertisement Here are some of the words we're hearing and seeing already. Connection. Consistency. Chemistry. Mike McDaniel changes up Miami Dolphins' tone for 2025 Those words were literally part of a recent Dolphins social media post. The Dolphins want to be a better team in 2025, which means player investment and spending more time together, on and off the field. McDaniel is asking for - and it seems he'll demand as necessary - consistency. There must be a better consistency in all areas. And after missing the playoffs last season, players seem to be on alert. There will be be changes if there is not improved performance in 2025. Advertisement More words? OK, we've got words. Toughness. Reliability. Commitment. "Personally, I feel like we're not soft," Kohou said. "We just, we just have to win more games and win the big ones." Do Dolphins have to be tougher? More committed? Accountable? Smart, incredible leaders like Terron Armstead and Calais Campbell have either retired or moved on. And on the way out, each seemed to indicate a bit more could be given by Dolphins if they wanted to experience a championship effort. Be present. Be on-time. Attention to detail. Armstead, candid as ever, put the onus on McDaniel to enforce accountability. "It starts with Mike," Armstead said after Miami's final game of 2024. "It starts with Mike. You know, he's coming with that approach that we're going to be a great team. Nothing less. And holding everybody to that standard every day..." Advertisement Accountability. A word, but an important one. Players say Tyreek Hill is showing signs of improved leadership. For talented lone wolf Jalen Ramsey, who will soon be traded, leadership was not a focus. Dolphins trading talented and temperamental Jalen Ramsey The Dolphins have tried in recent years to assemble a team of star players with Pro Bowl pedigree and it's resulted in, again, no playoff wins. There are still some really skilled players on this roster. But what McDaniel seems to be emphasizing is that more than talent is going to be required to break through to another level of success. INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA - FEBRUARY 25: Head coach Mike McDaniel of the Miami Dolphins speaks to the media during the NFL Scouting Combine at the Indiana Convention Center on February 25, 2025 in Indianapolis, Indiana. (Photo by) Veteran linebacker Jordyn Brooks was asked about "culture" and "work ethic" and he suggested it is headed in the right direction. Advertisement "I feel like as a leader, you gotta' be the example," Brooks said. "And I think all the young guys that we've got, as a leader, you gotta' be the example. And I think the young guys, all the young guys that we got in, they'll follow behind that. "It's not just myself that's helped leading the charge. We've got several guys. And so honestly, I feel with us leading the charge and making that change or whatever you wanna' say, I think a lot of the young guys that have come in, they went to work immediately. Which ultimately has kind of changed the, people wanna say the work ethic around the team or whatever, to our benefit." McDaniel seems to be setting a 2025 tone with a bit more edge. And he's hoping, it seems, that the veteran players echo that tone in their leadership strategies. "There's no easy put a poster on the wall," McDaniel said, adding, "Your culture is defined by the people within it and how you execute your daily habits. The tonality of the focus of the team has been clear to me thus far, and we'll see how it goes." Dolphins set to hold joint practices with Bears and Jaguars
The Miami Dolphins will hold joint practices against two of the team's three preseason opponents they play in August. It was previously disclosed that the Dolphins would host the Jacksonville Jaguars for a series of joint practices leading up to the exhibition season finale. But on Thursday the Chicago media was informed that the Chicago Bears would hold joint practices with the Dolphins at Hales Hall, the team's training camp facility. A date and time for all three preseason games, as well as the practice have yet to be announced. And whether the public can attend these practices - or if they will be invite-only - has not been clarified. The last time the Dolphins held joint practices with the Bears at Hales Hall, which was in 2020, the practices were invite-only for Bears season-ticket holders. Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel is a huge fan of joint practices, which have become the norm in the NFL since four joint practices in the preseason are allowed. Sometimes teams hold back-to-back joint practices, setting up the preseason game that's typically played on Friday or Saturday. Not only does a joint practice allow both teams to gauge where they're at, it gives starters the opportunity to go head-to-head for a little taste of game action, without the going to the ground element. However, there are risks involved in joint practices. Two years ago receiver Jaylen Waddle broke his ribs in a joint practice, and last season Pro Bowl receiver Tyreek Hill suffered the wrist injury that lingered all season in Miami's joint practices with the Washington Commanders. Last year the Dolphins hosted joint practices against the Washington Commanders, and traveled to hold joint practices against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Both the Jaguars and the Bears feature first-time head coaches. The Bears hiring Ben Johnson, a former Dolphins assistant who worked his way up the NFL as a member of Dan Campbell's coaching staff in Detroit. The Jaguars hired Liam Coen, who was hired from Tampa Bay, where he was part of Todd Bowles' coaching staff. 'You sign up in a joint practice if you have relationships with head coaches, you can kind of forecast what they're trying to get out of practice,' McDaniel said in mid-August. 'I think it's important that you can kind of find different teams you kind of see practice the same way so that you have the tempo similar so that you can push guys in the right way but it can be organized, constructive work as opposed to who wins each and every play.'

NFL schedule release: Colts delete their 'Minecraft'-inspired video after Chargers do exact same thing
You know that trope in which two people show up to a party wearing the exact same thing? The Indianapolis Colts might have just done that with the kings of NFL schedule release day. A schedule release video in which best-selling video game "Minecraft" is used to roast every opponent is such a specific idea, and yet the Colts and Los Angeles Chargers both did exactly that on Wednesday. The Chargers have been doing stuff like this for years, first with anime in 2022 and 2023, then "The Sims" in 2024. In the case of 2025, the Chargers used the Microsoft-published title to take digs at Jameis Winston, Mike McDaniel, the Colts' QB battle, the Minnesota Vikings' playoff stumble, the Pittsburgh Steelers' purgatory, the Tuck Rule, Jason Kelce's phone destruction, the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl destruction (maybe a bridge too far for the ring-less Chargers) and the Micah Parsons-DeMarcus Lawrence feud. should we REALLY make our schedule release video in minecraft?yes yes yesyesyesyes yes yes yesyes yes yes yes yesyes yesyes yes yesyes yesye yes yesyes yes yesyes — Los Angeles Chargers (@chargers) May 15, 2025 It got awkward, however, when the Colts posted a shockingly similar video. We also can't give you the Colts' tweet with the video, because it was taken down roughly an hour after it was posted when it had become clear the two teams did the same thing. Fortunately, the internet is rather good at preserving stuff like this. As you can see, the production values are a step behind the Chargers', but we'd argue the roasts are of a similar quality. That's fine, I downloaded the Minecraft schedule release for the Colts 🤷🏾♂️. — CLew 🏈🏀⚾️🥊 (@droppedballspod) May 15, 2025 So, what happened? Did the Colts see what the Chargers did and get embarrassed? Did some poor social-media associate press the wrong button? This is just speculation, but it is worth noting the Chargers say "Minecraft used with permission from Microsoft Corporation" at the start of their video, and the Colts ... do not, despite specifically labeling their video "Minecraft Colts Schedule Edition." We will also point out the Washington Commanders' "Roller Coaster Tycoon" parody, the Atlanta Falcons' "Mario Kart" parody and the San Francisco 49ers' "Oregon Trail" parody all don't feature the actual names or logos of the games those teams are spoofing. So it seems very possible the Colts' legal department called an audible after finding out the social team might have blatantly infringed on the trademark of a multi-trillion-dollar company. "Minecraft" is a staple of modern video games, but it is not public domain. It's also possible a joke in the video, such as a clear reference to Tyreek Hill's maritime legal troubles, might have been too spicy for someone's tastes. The Colts did at least have a backup video, in which they just have players guess whom they're playing. Some teams will make multiple videos for schedule release day, such as the Los Angeles Rams putting out a Brenda Song local news parody and a player guessing game similar to the Colts'. Close enough. — Indianapolis Colts (@Colts) May 15, 2025 Meanwhile, the New York Jets just decided to have fun with the situation. we had a Minecraft video ready, but decided to change it last minute. our turn now. 😉∞️ — New York Jets (@nyjets) May 15, 2025 This all goes to show you really never know what's going to happen on NFL schedule release day.
