Tickets go on sale for Tubular Bells concert at York Barbican
A live tour of the music of Mike Oldfield will come to York in 2026.
The Best of Tubular Bells I, II, & III will be performed at York Barbican on Sunday, February 15, 2026, as part of a 26-date tour across the UK in February and March next year.
The show follows the extended 50th anniversary celebrations of Oldfield's Tubular Bells, which toured the UK, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand in 2023 and 2024.
The new tour will feature a live group led by Oldfield's long-time collaborator Robin Smith and will include extended sections from each of the Tubular Bells albums, as well as the international hit single Moonlight Shadow.
Mr Smith said: "I have been lucky enough to work with Mike since the premiere and the conception of Tubular Bells II.
"All of these epic works in the Tubular Bells series are filled with music of the utmost creativity and continually take the listener on extraordinary journeys of imagination."
Oldfield's Tubular Bells trilogy spans 17 years.
The original Tubular Bells was composed in 1971 and released in 1973, followed by Tubular Bells II in 1992 and Tubular Bells III in 1998.
An excerpt from Tubular Bells III, Far Above the Clouds, was featured in the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Mike Oldfield will not appear on the new tour.
Tickets for the York date went on sale at 10am on Friday, June 6.
