The Muppet Christmas Carol score to be performed live at York Barbican
A live orchestra will perform the score of Disney's The Muppet Christmas Carol at York Barbican this November. The York Barbican performance forms part of a UK-wide tour, which will see the orchestra perform the musical score alongside a screening of the complete film. The original score was composed by Miles Goodman, and its songs were penned by award-winning songwriter Paul Williams. The film, based on Charles Dickens' story, follows Scrooge's transformation after visits from the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. Kermit the Frog plays Bob Cratchit, the clerk of Scrooge (who is played by Michael Caine). Gonzo, as Dickens, narrates the story, with the help of Rizzo the Rat. The film also features Miss Piggy as Emily Cratchit, Fozzie Bear as Fozziwig, and Robin the Frog as Tiny Tim. The York Barbican performance will be on November 21. Tickets go on sale on May 9 at 10am from

Former Penn State four-star commit finds new Big Ten home out of transfer portal
Former Penn State four-star commit finds new Big Ten home out of transfer portal Ex-Penn State player Miles Goodman will be playing closer to his home next season. Former Penn State four-star recruit Miles Goodman may be moving on to a new program a little bit closer to home, but he will remain in the Big Ten. Goodman will reportedly be teaming up with the Oregon Ducks next season after committing to the Oregon program out of the transfer portal. Goodman, did not play much in his freshman season with the Nittany Lions due to an injury at the start of the season. Goodman averaged 1.2 points and 1.4 rebounds per game in his limited playing time for Penn State and head coach Mike Rhoades. The four-star recruit was a major recruiting victory for Rhoades in the Class of 2024, but Goodman will now embrace a bit of a fresh start with Oregon next season with hopes of playing to his full potential as a four-star recruit. Goodman will likely start his time with the Ducks as a top back-up option for Oregon big man Nate Bittle, but he will also have three more years of eligibility at his disposal and a fourth year if he utilizes a redshirt season in Eugene. That could make for a good situation for the Washington native in the next few years. Goodman is one of four players to leave Penn State through the transfer portal. Jahvin Carter, another good quality commitment, has landed with Memphis out of the transfer portal and two others- Hudson Ward and Joe Sedona- have yet to determine their next stops. Penn State has yet to add to the roster through the transfer portal at this time. Follow Kevin McGuire on Threads, Bluesky, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. Former Penn State center Miles Goodman transfers into Oregon program
Former Penn State center Miles Goodman transfers into Oregon program Assuming Oregon center Nate Bittle comes back for his senior season, he's going to need a backup and it looks as if the Ducks found him. Former Penn State freshman 6-foot-11 center Miles Goodman has announced he will be transferring into Oregon next season. He'll be a sophomore and have three years of eligibility remaining. Once a Top 100 recruit, Goodman didn't see a lot of action for the Nittany Lions this past season. He averaged just 1.2 points in the 13 games he appeared in. The Seattle-native was ranked the No. 96 player in the country, the No. 20 center, and the 12th best recruit out of Washington in the Class of 2024. Finding a backup for Bittle through the transfer portal isn't anything new for Dana Altman and the Ducks. They found Supreme Cookout of Georgetown to give Bittle a breather every now and then. He averaged just five points a game after averaging in double figures for the three seasons before that for the Hoyas. Cook also pulled down almost three rebounds a game for the Ducks. Oregon is hoping that with a healthy off-season, Goodman can provide some more production off the bench in the 2025-26 season. The roster is rounding into shape with Jackson Shelstad and Kwame Evans announcing their returns as well as Texas forward Devon Pryor coming into the program as well as former Elon guard TK Simpkins.
