BOSSIER PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS)—For the 15th consecutive year, Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) has been nationally recognized as a top-ten Military Friendly School and a top-ten Military Friendly Spouse School. BPCC's Bossier campus placed eighth in the small community college division for being military-friendly and fourth for being military spouse-friendly. The Natchitoches and Sabine Valley campuses also received Military Friendly Gold designations, awarding their dedication to serving military members. 'Bossier Parish Community College is a beacon of opportunity for our veterans, active-duty military, and their families,' said Chancellor Dr. Rick Bateman, Jr. 'We don't just provide an education—we provide a caring community dedicated to their success. To be nationally recognized for the 15th year in a row, and now as a Top Ten Military Friendly® School and Spouse School, affirms our mission and motivates us to continue raising the bar.' 'We are so proud to serve our military community by offering them opportunities to earn credentials that will carry them beyond their military careers,' said Susan Stakes, BPCC's Veterans Resource Center Director. 'The center is an inviting space for them to stay plugged into all things military on campus by way of benefits, resources, and camaraderie.' Institutions given the Military Friendly® School designation were assessed using public data sources and responses from a school-completed survey. 'The Military Friendly rankings list is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources for more than 8,800 schools nationwide, input from student veterans, and responses to the proprietary, data-driven survey from participating institutions,' a press release stated. 'The survey questions, methodology, criteria, and weighting were developed with the assistance of an independent research firm and an advisory council of educators and employers.'
