Rare chance to walk through Gatcombe Park and Avening Court estates
RARE access to two private estates in Minchinhampton is being granted for a charity walk. Horsfall House Hospice's annual event, set for Sunday, June 8, will allow participants to explore Gatcombe Park Woods and Avening Court. The estates, which are rarely open to the public, are being made accessible especially for the event. The 10-mile route begins at Minchinhampton Library, with check-in starting at 9.30am. The last entry to Avening Court will be at 3pm. For those preferring a shorter distance, an alternative return route is available after Avening Court. Toilets, drink stations and refreshments will be available at various points along the walk. Participants are required to register before setting off, with online pre-registration encouraged to ease queues on the day. Financial support for the event can be given through donations, either on the day or via the Horsfall House website. Participants can also raise sponsorship or choose to sponsor one of the hospice's Community Champions. All funds raised will directly support Horsfall House's work with elderly people in the community.
