Man named Michael Myers charged with murder in Mineral County
KEYSER, (WBOY) — A man named Michael Myers has been arrested in West Virginia and is accused of murdering a his brother over the weekend.
According to a criminal complaint, on May 18, Mineral County 911 received a call from Myers, 67, of Keyser, who told dispatchers that 'his brother was shot and that he was dead.' Dispatchers asked if the brother had shot himself, to which Myers said he would tell law enforcement 'when they get there.'
The complaint said that Myers and his brother lived in the house together.
Shortly after, deputies with the Mineral County Sheriff's Office arrived at Myers' residence on Shaw Road near Keyser, where they said they found the victim lying dead near the front door on the front porch. They added that blood could be seen on the floor of the porch and an apparent gunshot entry wound could be seen on the victim's upper back.

Deputies said that no weapons were found around the victim, who was taken to Potomac Valley Hospital for additional examination.
While on the scene, deputies spoke with Myers, who told them that he used an 8mm Mauser rifle to shoot the victim from the stairs of the residence and that he did not move the victim's body, the complaint said. Myers told deputies that the victim planned to kill him and that he 'felt like a prisoner' in the residence they shared.
Myers has been charged with murder and is being held in the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail.
