McLaren's Historic Victory at Bahrain International Circuit Celebrated by Cabinet
His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister, today chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. The Cabinet extended its congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the occasion of the Kingdom of Bahrain's successful hosting of the 2025 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, and on McLaren's victory in the race at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) -its first in Bahrain since the Kingdom joined the Formula 1 calendar in 2004. The Cabinet highlighted the outstanding organisation of the 21st edition of the event, which reflects the Kingdom's standing as a host of premier international sporting events. This accomplishment builds on the Kingdom's vast achievements at the BIC over the past 21 years. The Cabinet commended the relentless efforts of the national workforce from the Ministry of Interior and the BIC, as well as several government authorities, which facilitated the success of the world-class sporting event. The Cabinet expressed its gratitude to motorsport fans in the Kingdom of Bahrain and abroad for their enthusiastic participation and support. The Cabinet commended His Royal Highness's attendance at the 'Concordia' Unveiling Event, a monumental stained-glass artwork by internationally acclaimed artist Sir Brian Clarke. The Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom's commitment to developing Bahrain International Airport by enhancing its competitiveness. The artwork enhances the airport's aesthetic value and the experience of visitors and travellers by integrating art and culture into public spaces. In this regard, the Cabinet welcomed the multiple international awards received by Bahrain International Airport in 2024-2025, including being recognised as the 'World's Best Airport Serving 5–10 Million Passengers.' The Cabinet welcomed the Kingdom's election as a member of the Arab Charter for Human Rights Committee, reflecting the trust of the League of Arab States members in the Kingdom's commitment to regional Human Rights and its progress under the National Human Rights Plan. The Cabinet then discussed several memorandums during the meeting, approving the following: 1. A memorandum submitted by the Civil Service Council on restructuring several government agencies to improve efficiency. 2. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Fiscal Balance on the Kingdom's contributions to regional and international organisations. 3. A memorandum from the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on a draft law amending the decree law regulating advertising. 4. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on a draft resolution naming the competent administrative body and minister responsible for cultural and artistic associations, clubs, and private cultural and artistic institutions, and defining their scope of work. 5. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on a draft resolution regulating navigation permits for visiting ships in Bahraini waters. 6. A memorandum submitted by the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture on the acquisition of real estate for public use, to provide necessary spaces for urban development. 7. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on the government's response to four proposals presented by the Council of Representatives. The Cabinet also reviewed the following: 1. The outcomes of the Minister of Foreign Affairs's visit to the United States of America, including a meeting at the United Nations headquarters in New York, regarding the Kingdom of Bahrain's candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2026–2027 term. 2. The outcomes of the Kingdom's participation in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF 2025). 3. The outcomes of the visit programme for the Ministers of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. 4. The outcomes of the official visit of the Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs to the Italian Republic. 5. The outcomes of the 14th edition of the AIM Congress.

Turning to international affairs, the Cabinet reaffirmed the strategic importance of the United States of America in preserving security and stability in the Arabian Gulf and ensuring the safety of maritime navigation in both the Gulf and the Red Sea. It emphasized the enduring and multifaceted Bahrain-US relationship and reiterated the Kingdom's commitment to strengthening economic and trade ties as part of their longstanding strategic partnership. During the session, the Cabinet reviewed several key memorandums. Among them, a memorandum presented by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs was approved. The memorandum concerned a draft resolution outlining procedures for tax review requests and objections submitted under the Decree-Law regulating tax on multinational projects. The meeting concluded with a focus on continued legislative reforms aimed at supporting Bahrain's strategic development goals and enhancing transparency within regulatory frameworks. HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa Chairs Weekly Cabinet Meeting
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting today at the Qudaibiya Palace. At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet extended its highest congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, on the occasion of the anniversary of the National Action Charter. The Cabinet also congratulated the people of Bahrain on this national occasion, highlighting the remarkable achievements made across various sectors, inspired by the charter's vision, and contributing to the nation's progress. The Cabinet then reviewed the preparations for hosting the Islamic-Islamic Dialogue Conference under the patronage of His Majesty the King. The meeting commended the dedicated efforts of the relevant committees and authorities working collectively to ensure the success of the conference and the provision of all necessary facilities for the distinguished guests. In a significant move to support social welfare, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister directed the doubling of social assistance payments for beneficiaries of social security and disability allowances during the holy month of Ramadan. He instructed the Ministry of Social Development to disburse these payments ahead of Ramadan to alleviate the financial burdens of low-income families during the sacred month. Furthermore, the Cabinet directed government ministries and entities to continue advancing digital transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accessibility of public services. The meeting praised the launch of the "Hakomati" application as part of the government's commitment to digital governance and expressed gratitude to the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology, chaired by the Minister of Interior, for its efforts in this domain. The Cabinet also approved several memorandums, including: A memorandum from the Ministerial Committee for Development and Infrastructure Projects on enhancing investment procedures in the real estate sector in Bahrain. A memorandum from the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding an amendment to the executive regulations of the Civil Service Law. A memorandum concerning a mutual cooperation agreement between Bahrain's Customs Affairs and the Italian Customs and Monopolies Agency. A memorandum on a cooperation program between the Ministry of Health in Bahrain and its counterpart in Saudi Arabia for collaboration in the healthcare sector. A memorandum from the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Endowments on launching an electronic service for private notaries to facilitate real estate transactions through digital integration with relevant government entities. A memorandum from the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the government's response to three proposals from the Council of Representatives and a proposed law from the Shura Council. Additionally, the Cabinet reviewed a memorandum from the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the work of the National Committee responsible for coordinating and monitoring the implementation of Bahrain's initiatives presented at the 33rd Arab Summit. The Cabinet was also briefed on several ministerial reports, including: The outcomes of the visit of Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs to Bahrain. The results of the official visit by the Minister of Works to the UAE to engage with counterparts following a Cabinet resolution. Bahrain's participation in the Ministerial Committee for Food Safety under the Gulf Cooperation Council Secretariat. Key events of Manama as the 2024 Arab Media Capital. Bahrain's participation in the High Committee Meeting on Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development. Bahrain's performance in the 2023 Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS). The Cabinet reaffirmed its commitment to national development and strategic initiatives aimed at fostering economic growth, social welfare, and digital governance.

HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister chairs the weekly Cabinet Meeting: 27 January 2025
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. The Cabinet affirmed the importance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's visit to the French Republic, where HM the King met with His Excellency President Emmanuel Macron. The visit highlighted the enduring strength of Bahrain-France relations across economic, political and defence sectors. In this regard, the Cabinet underscored the strategic partnership and mutual commitment to enhance ties to meet shared aspirations. The Cabinet praised Bahrain's delegation, led by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), for its impactful participation in the WEF 55th Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland. The Cabinet also commended the Kingdom's participation in bilateral meetings, roundtable discussions, and high-level strategy sessions, showcasing Bahrain's initiatives in economic diversification, sustainability, and innovation. In this regard, the Cabinet welcomed the signing of the 'Bahrain Skills and Gender Parity Accelerator' agreement between the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) and the World Economic Forum. The Cabinet then discussed several memorandums during the meeting, approving the following: 1. A memorandum submitted by the Minister of Interior regarding the removal of certain entities and individuals from the list of terrorist entities. 2. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding granting the Italian Republic the right of sovereignty over the data of its citizens stored in cloud computing centres in the Kingdom of Bahrain. 3. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia on political consultations. 4. A memorandum submitted by the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications on the timeline for implementing the internal railway network and its integration into the GCC railway network. 5. A memorandum submitted by the Minister of Legal Affairs regarding the Kingdom of Bahrain's legislative plan for 2025. 6. A memorandum submitted by the Minister of Industry and Commerce regarding the inclusion of the Italian Republic as a partner for the Kingdom's sea-air freight services. The list includes 20 participating countries, whose companies may apply for accreditation as operators for these services. 7. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on the government's response to three proposals and a law submitted by the Council of Representatives. The Cabinet then reviewed a memorandum submitted by the Minister of Cabinet Affairs regarding government performance developments within the 'Sijilat', 'Tawasul' and 'Binayat' platforms between January to December 2024, compared to the previous year. The platforms aim to enhance service quality and efficiency for citizens and support commercial and investment activities in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
