EXCLUSIVE Roxy Jacenko slams WFH and reveals why she thinks it is going to severely harm businesses: 'Lazy'

Roxy Jacenko has slammed working from home arrangements, describing it as a 'lazy' work mentality. Speaking at her 'In Conversation with Roxy Jacenko' exclusive event in Sydney on Friday, the PR dynamo said the key to a good business operation is interacting and networking - in person. 'We stopped picking up the phone, stopped going to things, stopped networking altogether. Zoom became an easy way of doing business,' Roxy told the crowd. 'It's a lazy way of doing business. The fact is, people want an experience, they want a memory. We need to start doing that networking again.' Roxy runs a PR firm and Ministry of Talent, a talent agency that represent influencers like Costeen Hatzi and reality TV star Ash Pollard. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the She believes that as working from home arrangement continue, workers are increasingly forgetting the importance of being around people. 'Everything has become digital, but people want the touch-and-feel experience. This is why I am doing this (seminar), there is an importance in being around people,' she explained. 'We lost that connection during Covid. We became lazy. Instead of going to a face-to-face meeting you would have a meeting over Zoom or Teams.' 'I get to an end result because I do it face-to-face. People want to be treated like real people, they want to belong. It's about community,' she added. 'We want to see a familiar face, to see a connection. So much more comes from face-to-face than staring at a screen. It's s**t on Zoom, it doesn't have the same connection.' She went on to describe a recent business meeting with an investment banker in Singapore. When she walked into the company's office there were no employees at their desks because everyone was working from home. She said it made her think twice about working with the company, and in turn, they lost her business. 'When you walk into our office, it's light and bright, there's orchards and music, There's a vibe!' she said. WFH became the norm for white-collar workers during the Covid lockdowns from 2020 - 2022, and has since become entrenched in many industries, with more than a third of Australians now doing their job at home. Some companies are pushing to get staff back into the office more often in the belief it is a more efficient way of working, but the Productivity Commission recently concluded the opposite. This is not the first time Roxy has slammed working from home. Back in November 2024, she scolded fellow business owner Jane Lu over her working from home policies at Showpo. She expressed her disapproval of the CEO's decision to have employees work in the office only two out of five days per week. Speaking on The Lazy CEO Podcast with Jane Lu, Roxy emphasised her belief that having staff present in the office five days a week would foster greater collaboration among the team. 'You've got a whole team out there. Get them here five days a week, not f**king two days a week,' she said. 'The only way to work the team is with the team. And I'm sorry, I don't believe in this work from home.' Jane acknowledged that when she had her team in the Showpo office full-time, she noticed that more ideas were 'bounced off' and exchanged among colleagues. 'Before Covid, I was more the same age as everyone. We were together five days. [There was] so much more collaboration,' she said. 'Everyone just presents ideas to me. There's no brainstorm.' 'Yeah, but that's your fault. You're the boss,' Roxy quipped. 'You're not together, you're not on the floor with them... only two days a week.' Roxy, who relocated her family to Singapore in 2023, confirmed in September she had made a return to publicity and Sydney two years after stepping down as director of Sweaty Betty.

Married At First Sight star Adrian Araouzou reveals his shock theory on why he was dropped from Roxy Jacenko's talent agency

Married At First Sight star Adrian Araouzou has shared his shock theory about why he was dropped from Roxy Jacenko's talent agency after just one week. The reality TV star was let go by Roxy 's Ministry of Talent agency just days after being signed - and he believes he knows the reason why. The business owner, 30 has admitted PR maven Jacenko may not have wanted to be associated with his controversial image. In 2021, he was accused of domestic violence three years before he appeared on the hit Channel Nine show. According to court documents, Adrian was the subject of domestic violence charges. He faced three charges - assault occasioning actual bodily harm, domestic violence common assault and resisting police - but was found not guilty on all counts. 'I can understand [Roxy's] point of view [if she received] backlash. People hate seeing people do good,' Adrian told Chattr. 'Unfortunately, a lot of people will do the most to make sure I don't.' Adrian added he was not concerned about securing a new agent and was instead focusing on developing his budding e-commerce career. 'Now I have had time to think, I have my own business and want to build my personal brand just as I was before the show. Not just promote every business for a dollar,' he said. Earlier this week, it was reported that Adrian had found himself without a PR agent just a week after securing the representation of Jacenko, one of the best in the business. While the PR maven would not be drawn on the reason Adrian was ditched, Jacenko told Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday: 'I can confirm Adrian is not represented by The Ministry of Talent.' Adrian sparked rumours he had parted ways with the public relations titan when he removed Ministry of Talent from his TikTok bio this week. The reality star also no longer appears on the Ministry Of Talent's website. 'There are no hard feelings. I understand what it is,' Adrian told Yahoo Lifestyle on Tuesday. Adrian earlier told the publication he wanted to move on from the show that made him famous. 'I plan on dissociating anything to do with MAFS,' he said. 'I enjoy creating content, so I'll continue to keep on doing that just like I was doing before,' Adrian continued. 'I have other business ventures that I would like to explore and see where life takes me.' The groom was announced as a new member of Roxy's exclusive roster last week. 'Thrilled to announce that @ is now represented by The Ministry of Talent for social media collabs and appearances!' a post on Instagram read. 'Get in touch for opportunities' it added, while sitting alongside a series of photos of the reality star. Adrian briefly joined the likes of tennis WAG Costeen Hatzi and fellow reality star Ash Pollard as a Ministry Of Talent member.

Roxy Jacenko confirms she has dropped controversial Married At First Sight star Adrian Araouzou from her PR roster after less than a week

Adrian Araouzou has found himself without a PR agent just a week after landing one of the best in the business. The controversial Married At First Sight star has been dropped from Roxy Jacenko 's Ministry of Talent agency just days after being signed. While the PR maven would not be drawn on the reason Adrian was ditched, Jacenko told Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday: 'I can confirm Adrian is not represented by The Ministry of Talent.' Adrian sparked rumours that he had parted ways with the public relations titan when he removed Ministry of Talent from his TikTok bio this week. The reality star also no longer appears on Ministry Of Talent's website. 'There are no hard feelings. I understand what it is' Adrian told Yahoo Lifestyle on Tuesday. Adrian earlier told the publication that he wanted to move on from the show that made him famous. 'I plan on dissociating anything to do with MAFS,' he said. 'I enjoy creating content, so I'll continue to keep on doing that just like I was doing before the show' Adrian continues. 'I have other business ventures that I would like to explore and see where life takes me. I am an open book right now.' The groom, who has been a controversial figure during his time on the show, was announced as a new member of Roxy's exclusive roster last week. It comes a day after he was caught out making a very embarrassing fashion faux pas. The controversial 2025 groom, 30, was hobnobbing with Australia's haute couture elite on Monday at fashion icon Carla Zampatti's Australian Fashion Week show at the MCA in Sydney. Arriving at the glittering event, Adrian was stopped on the red carpet by So Sydney. 'Is this our very first fashion week ever,' Adrian said. 'I don't know what to expect. I've never heard of it, to be honest. I'm not gonna lie.' Pressed to clarify, Adrian was then asked if he was referring to Carla Zampatti or Australian Fashion Week in general. 'Both,' he replied matter-of-factly. Despite Adrian's ignorance of the milieu he found himself in, the reality star was confident of a 'good night.' 'I'm open to plans after, but I have none at the moment - I'm expecting a good night,' he said. 'Just meeting some people and have a look of [sic] what's going on in fashion, I guess.' Adrian was then asked about his 'fit' for the event and he admitted he threw his ensemble together at the last minute. 'This is not my best fit,' he admitted. 'I got a ticket late last night at 10:30[pm], so I had to put something together.' Adrian offered a cheeky comment about So Sydney's inability to gain access to the event with: 'I'll buy you a ticket next time.' However, one fan suggested that the reality star may have trouble securing a ticket to the 2026 event with a sarcastic, 'next time,' and a slew of laughing face emojis. Adrian also recently denied claims he cheated on his TV bride Awhina Rutene while filming the Channel Nine dating show. He told Daily Mail Australia on Wednesday, he didn't have sex with another woman while on the show after Awhina accused him of leaving their apartment to spend time with another female. 'Absolutely not. As if I would need to go have sex with someone in that space of filming,' he said. 'I was out for a mates birthday and went past mine to grab a few things then went back to the apartment,' Adrian explained. He claimed Awhina had also been invited to join him but decided to spend time with fellow bride Beth Kelly instead.

MAFS' Adrian dropped by talent agency after less than a week

While this year's season of Married At First Sight finished airing over a month ago, several participants are hoping to extend their time in the spotlight by signing with talent agencies. This includes Carina Mirabile, Paul Antoine, and Eliot Donovan, who have all added their new management details to their Instagram bios since regaining access to their accounts on Monday. It was also revealed last week that controversial groom Adrian Araouzou had joined PR queen Roxy Jacenko's agency, Ministry Of Talent, which represents reality star Ash Pollard, The Block contestants Leah and Ash Milton, and influencer Costeen Hatzi. The agency proudly announced the news on social media alongside a gallery of photos of Adrian both on and off the show. Just three days after the announcement, however, fans began speculating that he had already been dropped by the agency. Entertainment reporter and content creator Beth Anne (@livingmy_bethlife) noticed that Adrian had removed his management details from his TikTok bio, and he was no longer listed on Ministry Of Talent's website. Roxy confirmed in a statement to Yahoo Lifestyle on Tuesday that Adrian is no longer a part of Ministry Of Talent's roster, simply saying: 'No, we do not rep Adrian.' Adrian also confirmed that he and Ministry Of Talent had parted ways, telling us: 'There are no hard feelings. I understand what it is.' Interestingly, at the time of writing, Ministry Of Talent is yet to delete their Facebook post announcing that they are representing Adrian. When asked about his career plans following his appearance on MAFS, Adrian tells Yahoo Lifestyle that he wants to 'go back to what [he] was doing before', which includes running his own e-commerce business. 'I plan on dissociating anything to do with MAFS,' he shares. 'I enjoy creating content, so I'll continue to keep on doing that just like I was doing before the show. PR queen Roxy Jacenko signs very controversial MAFS groom to her A-list management company

Roxy Jacenko represents some of the most promising talents in showbiz. But the PR queen made an unusual choice this week as her Ministry Of Talent agency signed up Married At First Sight's Adrian Araouzou. The groom, who has been a controversial figure during his time on the show, was announced as a new member of Roxy's exclusive roster on Monday. 'Thrilled to announce that @ is now represented by The Ministry of Talent for social media collabs and appearances!' a post on Instagram read. 'Get in touch for opportunities' it added, while sitting alongside a series of photos of the reality star. Adrian joins the likes of tennis WAG Costeen Hatzi and fellow reality star Ash Pollard as a Ministry Of Talent member. It comes after Araouzou lifted the lid on his tumultuous experience in the experiment – addressing the harsh online backlash. The outspoken groom also spoke about the emotional toll of reality TV, and the real reason he stayed in the experiment despite being paired with a bride who had a child. In a raw interview with Daily Mail Australia, the Sydney-based sportswear entrepreneur, 30, admitted he was left reeling after watching his edit back on TV – and confessed he wasn't prepared for the avalanche of criticism that followed. 'We're not taught how to handle those things,' he said. 'Watching yourself on TV make some mistakes and having everyone judge you online – it's a lot. It was a new experience for everyone on the cast.' The fiery groom was paired with Awhina Rutene, a 30-year-old single mum from Western Australia, and became one of the most divisive figures of the 2025 season. Adrian says the version of himself viewers saw wasn't the full picture. 'There's the edit – and then there's the truth,' he explained. 'I know what was shown. But a lot of the reasons behind certain situations, especially involving Awhina's son and the logistics of our lives, weren't included. That was frustrating.' Adrian and Awhina faced a number of roadblocks from the get-go – most notably, the challenge of living in different states and Awhina's responsibilities as a mother. The groom revealed he specifically asked not to be matched with someone who had a child before filming began – but when he met Awhina, he made a choice to push past his reservations. 'I asked for someone open-minded. Who would I be if I wasn't open-minded in that moment?' he said. 'It wasn't what I wanted, but I chose to stay and give it a shot.' Despite the rocky start, Adrian said his feelings for Awhina were 'definitely developing,' and the pair built a deep connection off-camera – even going 'missing' one weekend and spending time with fellow groom Tony in Shellharbour, away from production. 'We weren't supposed to, but we got an Airbnb and spent three days together after the final dinner party,' he revealed. 'That's why the final vows ended the way they did – because we knew what we had was real.' Addressing accusations that he stayed on the show for clout or airtime, Adrian didn't hold back. 'Imagine being stuck in a room with someone 24/7 that you don't like. You will leave. The perfect example is Billy and Sierah – they were done,' he said. 'If you're gonna hate on me, I'll give you a reason to. Judging me off a show – that's not who I really am.' He admitted that he struggled with how to respond to the backlash, often turning defensive online as a coping mechanism. Adrian said he now regrets not being more self-aware during filming – particularly in moments where Awhina was visibly upset. 'Watching it back, I was like, damn. I didn't see that at the time. I had my walls up. I was thinking about myself and being selfish,' he said. 'I should have done better.' Despite everything, Adrian insists he has no regrets. 'As cheesy as it sounds, I don't have any regrets,' he said. 'We go into this experiment knowing we have flaws – the whole point is to become a better person. And I've done that.' The self-proclaimed 'main character' of MAFS season 12 also hopes viewers are finally starting to see the real him. 'I'm not perfect. I never have been and I never will be. But what you're seeing now – that's the real me,' he said. 'Hopefully, this is the biggest redemption in MAFS history.'
