We Asked Disney Cast Members for the Best Walking Shoes—and These Are the 11 Comfy Styles They Swear By

If anyone knows the importance of a good pair of walking shoes, it's Disney cast members. These pros easily clock tens of thousands of steps a day, whether they're working long shifts around Cinderella's Castle or spending a well-earned day off park-hopping with friends. So when it comes to finding the best shoes for walking all day at Disney, they know which styles actually hold up under pressure (and humidity). We asked current and former Disney employees to share the walking shoes they rely on most, both on and off the clock. From ultra-cushioned Hoka shoes that feel like "walking on marshmallows" to the supportive Asics pairs that can handle 35,000-step shifts, these are the shoes that Disney cast members actually wear. Whether you're planning a trip to Magic Kingdom or just need a pair of sneakers that won't quit halfway through your errands, these are some of the best walking shoes for Disney World and beyond. There's a reason Hokas are the go-to shoes at Disney parks, including for cast members. One current employee called the Hoka Clifton 9 Shoes 'a game changer,' adding that 'they're like walking on marshmallows from rope drop to fireworks.' They're lightweight, ultra-cushioned, and surprisingly supportive for long days on your feet. The Bondi 9 shoes are the second most popular Hoka pick among Disney employees. Fans say this version feels lighter than previous Hoka Bondi styles while still delivering plush support and a bit of extra lift, perfect for all-day wear, whether you're working a shift or hitting every park in one day. If you want a high cushion without bulk, the Hoka Rincon 4 is a standout, according to Disney employees. Designed with soft, springy foam and a snug fit, this ultra-light trainer is ideal for long walking days. Bonus: The breathable upper and sleek silhouette make it a stylish choice beyond the parks, too. With built-in stability and cushioned support, the Hoka Arahi 7 is a favorite among cast members who log serious steps. One park regular noted they hit 17,000 steps in these and still felt great. Amazon carries them in six color options—so whether you want to go neutral or bold, there's a pair for you. You might not think of Nike Air Force 1s as theme park shoes, but they're a quiet favorite among cast members. The classic style features Nike's signature lightweight air cushioning and a streamlined look that works just as well with Minnie Mouse ears as it will with jeans and a tee back home. While Asics might fly under the radar, plenty of Disney insiders swear by them, particularly the Gel-Nimbus 26s. One former cast member said, 'I averaged 25,000 to 35,000 steps per shift. These lasted longer than my Skechers and were lighter than most other options I tried.' The Gel-Nimbus 26 delivers soft cushioning and stability without extra weight. The Asics Gel-Cumulus 25 is a great option if you want a well-cushioned shoe without the premium price tag. One Amazon reviewer said they rival $200 shoes in comfort. With a smooth ride and breathable build, these sneakers are ideal for long walks and everyday wear alike. The latest version of Brooks' popular Adrenaline GTS 24 stability shoe is also this year's pick for the brand's DisneyRun collection. With nitrogen-infused foam and a GuideRails support system, these are built for comfort, stability, and high mileage—perfect for marathon park days. The Pegasus 41 is one of Nike's most beloved shoes for good reason. This latest version features a breathable upper and new ReactX foam for a more energy-returning, springy ride. Dual Air Zoom units add even more bounce, making them a great option for full days of walking (and snapping Disney pics for your Instagram). The New Balance 327 offers a great blend of comfort and style, especially if you're not used to being on your feet all day. A lightweight upper and grippy outsole make these breathable and great for hikes, too. One reviewer even wore them to an all-day golf tournament and said they felt amazing. Spotting On Cloud shoes at Disney parks has become common, and the Cloud 6 style is one of the most-worn styles. The newest version features a roomier step-in, a better heel fit, and the same signature cloud-like cushioning. They're comfy, supportive, and easy to wear straight from the teacups to a fireworks show, and dinner after. Love a great deal? My grandad used sick ‘Minnie Mouse game' to sexually abuse me from age 5… monster stole my childhood but I made him pay

Evil Melvin Denton told Disney-obsessed Jasmin Flint not to tell anyone as 'they'd want to play too' PURE EVIL My grandad used sick 'Minnie Mouse game' to sexually abuse me from age 5… monster stole my childhood but I made him pay Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LIKE most little girls, Jasmin Flint was Disney-obsessed, getting lost in the magical world of her favourite princesses. She'd spend hours watching fairytale films like Beauty and the Beast, along with her younger sister and mum. 6 Jasmin Flint was sexually abused by her step-grandad from the age of five Credit: HotSpot Media 6 She and her sister were huge Disney fans and loved the cartoon characters Credit: HotSpot Media 6 Melvin Denton used a sick 'Minnie and Mickey' game to abuse Jasmin Credit: HotSpot Media Their home was filled with film memorabilia, with Jasmin's step-grandad, Melvin Denton, often treating the girls to second-hand Disney gifts. But when she was five, Denton preyed on her innocent love for the popular fictional characters in a sick plot. Under the guise of playing a game of "Minnie and Mickey", he sexually abused Jasmin for his own perverted pleasure for three years at her nan's home. Twenty four years on, in September 2021, mum-of-three Jasmin finally found the courage to report him to police after bumping into her abuser in a supermarket. Last month, the 79-year-old predator was jailed for ten years for four counts of gross indecency and five counts of indecent assault with a child under 14. Knowing Melvin will die behind bars gives me some comfort Jasmin Jasmin, from Lincolnshire, says: 'Knowing Melvin will die behind bars gives me some comfort. 'But I hate anything Disney now. I won't let my children wear anything character-themed and barely let them out of my sight. 'Melvin preyed on me in the wickedest way by exploiting my love for innocent children's characters. 'He's a monster.' My childhood abuser walked free -Life stories As a child, Denton was her dad's stepdad, but she called him Grandad and doted on him. While her younger sister stayed home with her mum, Jasmin spent every weekend at the home he shared with her nana. She remembers: 'They spoiled me and would often buy me new CDs and let me watch TV until late. 'Nana would cook me any dinner I liked, too.' But everything changed when Jasmin turned five. Twisted game Jasmin recalls: 'One night, he took me into his bedroom and asked if I wanted to play a game of Mickey and Minnie. 'I was so excited and agreed.' 6 Jasmin says that she had no understanding of what was happening and believed it was a game Credit: HotSpot Media 6 It wasn't until she reached high school that she realised she had been sexually abused Credit: HotSpot Media With that, Denton ushered Jasmin to sit on his lap so he could carry out his sick abuse. She added: 'He was laughing, so I thought it was fun and was happy to play. 'Afterwards, he stopped and told me it was a secret and not to tell anyone as they'd want to play too. I agreed.' From then on, every weekend, during bedtime, while her nana was watching TV downstairs, Denton played the "game". The following year, when Jasmin was aged six, her nana came home and disturbed Denton while he was carrying out the sick abuse. Jasmin explains: 'Nana had come back early from church and when the door went, Melvin bolted up. 'As he went downstairs to greet my nana, I followed him. 'Before she saw me he barked at me to go and get dressed.' Then, when she turned seven, the abuse became more aggressive. Jasmin says: 'I started to cry as a massive burning pain shot through me. 'In agony, I told him I didn't want to carry on so he tucked me in bed, kissing me goodnight.' 'My life began to spiral' The following year, aged eight, Jasmin suddenly stopped seeing Denton. She says: 'One day, Mum said I wasn't going back to theirs. 'I was devastated and missed playing Minnie and Mickey. 'I blamed her for breaking up the family.' It wasn't until years later, when Jasmin turned 13, during school she realised she'd been abused. 'I confided in a friend about what had happened but she seemed to think it was normal,' Jasmin says. 'That's when my life began to spiral. 'I began skipping school and I rebelled against my mum - our relationship was very strained.' Aged 19, she had her daughter which Jasmin credits for getting her life back on track. She says: 'Having her saved me. But I hated people touching or kissing her. 'I was fiercely protective of her.' Then, in August 2018, she met her now partner and they had a little girl together before going on to have another in August 2021. That month, she was in the supermarket with her mum and younger daughters when she bumped into Denton. While he didn't speak to Jasmin, he clearly recognised her and smirked. Panicked, she raced to the bathroom. She says: 'I was hysterical and couldn't breathe. 'It took me 15 minutes to gather myself.' That night Jasmin finally confessed to her mum all about Denton's abuse. Melvin was a real-life villain and I'll never forgive him for stealing my childhood away Jasmin Flint Her mum was totally supportive and encouraged her to report him, but Jasmin wasn't ready. The following month, after suffering numerous panic attacks and nightmares, she plucked up the courage to phone the police. She gave a video statement and Denton was arrested. Three years later, she took the stand at Grimsby Crown Court to give evidence against him. Denton was found guilty of multiple sexual offences against Jasmin and jailed for ten years. Jasmin says: 'Melvin tried to control me until the very end. Delaying his sentencing four times by claiming he was ill. 'But I was determined not to let him win. 'Now I have justice. I want others to know they can too. 'It's a hard process but it's worth it. 'Melvin was a real-life villain and I'll never forgive him for stealing my childhood away.'
