James Webb Telescope Captures Image of Most Distant Galaxy Ever Seen

Photos: 'Miracle' grizzly bear cub reappears again in Grand Teton National Park
By now, many have heard about Grizzly Bear 1063 losing two of her yearling triplets to an attack by a male grizzly bear earlier this month in Grand Teton National Park. The carcasses were discovered by park staff on May 13 near Colter Bay. Both showed signs of predation by a larger bear. If that weren't sad enough, the third cub was missing and presumed by many to be dead. But on May 15, Grizzly 1063 was spotted crossing a paved road with her lone-surviving cub. Many refer to the cub as 'Miracle.' All of this was on my mind last week when I visited the park with my brother, and specifically after a park employee at Colter Bay informed us at a picnic site that a momma grizzly with a cub had recently been spotted nearby. Thirty minutes later, as we drove from the bay toward the main highway, we encountered a traffic jam caused by a bear sighting in the trees. We caught just a glimpse of the bears as a ranger and bear-management team dispersed the crowd. ALSO: Can you spot the rattlesnake in Arizona homeowners' garage? The ranger blared a siren to drive both bears back into the trees because they were close to an employee housing complex and guest accommodations. On a hunch, less than an hour later, we returned to the Colter Bay road and almost immediately, Grizzly 1063 and her cub emerged near our vehicle. My brother slowly maneuvered the SUV to allow the bears to cross and I managed a single photo burst through my 400-millimeter lens before we saw several vehicles, following a park vehicle with flashing lights, speeding in our direction. We drove on as the bears safely crossed and vanished into the forest before the park vehicle and bear paparazzi arrived. Later, while looking at my photo sequence, I was delighted to see that the cub was almost fully hidden by momma bear at first, but slowly revealed in subsequent images. Note that Grizzly 1063's hind legs appear thicker than they might otherwise appear in the top image, and that the tiniest portion of the cub's rump is visible. In the next image, more of the cub's rump comes into view as momma bear leads the way across the road. In each image, more of the cub is revealed, and when the cub is fully visible, viewers might note that the yearling bruin bears a striking resemblance to mom. While these roadside encounters are thrilling and allow tourists to view some of the park's magnificent bears at close range, they're also bittersweet. That's because some momma bears remain near roads, at times, to keep their cubs safe from aggressive male bears that typically avoid humans and vehicle traffic. (Male grizzly bears sometimes kill cubs as an expression of dominance or because momma bears without cubs can become more receptive to mating attempts.) Sadly, roadside bears are vulnerable to vehicle strikes. As many wildlife aficionados know, the world-famous Grizzly 399, which produced 18 cubs in or near Grand Teton National Park throughout her life, was fatally struck by a vehicle outside the park last October. In late April early May, one of Grizzly 399's male offspring, Grizzly 1058, was struck by a vehicle inside the park. She hobbled into a willow thicket and her body was discovered days later by National Park Service employees. Here's hoping that Grizzly Bear 1063 and her miracle cub can avoid that kind of tragic ending. Miracle on Ice's Ken Morrow will always have second home in Northport, LI
One day, Islanders great and Miracle on Ice member Ken Morrow was going for a leisurely drive in Huntington Village when a pair of police officers suddenly pulled him over. 'When they came up, I didn't know why. I didn't think I'd been speeding or anything,' Morrow told The Post. 'And their first words to me were, 'I thought that was the Stanley Cup in the back of your car.' With their lights going, they stood at my back window looking at the Stanley Cup and reading the names.' NHLI via Getty Images It became one of the many memorable moments for longtime Northport resident Morrow, who won Lord Stanley's hardware four straight times with the Isles — the first coming mere months after defeating the USSR juggernaut in Lake Placid. In the Michigan native's words, it didn't take long to become a bona fide everyday Long Islander. 'You were just part of the local community, and you didn't get mobbed or anything like that,' said Morrow, who now calls Kansas City home as director of pro scouting in the Islanders organization. Still, the defenseman who fell in love with local beaches and drives on the scenic North Shore would 'get a couple of people that would come up and knock on the door' occasionally. 'I remember one time, we had a school bus driver pull in our driveway, and we were trying to figure out what the heck was going on until he came up to the door,' he recalled. 'I struck up a lot of conversations with people. It certainly didn't bother me at all that people wanted to do that.' Now, nearly 45 years to that fateful day of May 24, 1980, when Morrow and the team celebrated their first Cup win in overtime of Game 6 against the Flyers, he remembers it all like it was yesterday. Getty Images 'When Bobby Nystrom scored, I think the feeling was relief as much as it was joy,' Morrow said, adding that even climbing stairs became challenging when the Stanley Cup Final rolled around. The Olympic gold medalist, now 68, returned to the island two summers ago and recounted his days on top of the world in his memoir, 'Ken Morrow: Miracle Gold, Four Stanley Cups, and a Lifetime of Islanders Hockey,' co-written by sportswriter Allan Kreda. From gold to silver It was a blur when he arrived in Nassau County just weeks after the greatest hockey game ever played. Morrow and his family first stayed in a Holiday Inn on Old Country Road near the beloved Nassau Coliseum, but they didn't catch much of an authentic glimpse of the island he adores at first. What he did see, however, were fans salivating for their first chance to win it all in the spring of 1980. 'You had a lot of interactions with the fans, which was a really great thing.' His playing days were when spectators were much more accessible, as players parked outside the arena — right by pregame festivities that Morrow distinctly holds dear. 'The tailgating is something I'll always remember — probably unique to Long Island. The people were out there tailgating hours before games,' he said, adding it was the first time he ever saw the grills going for hockey games and fans escorting players toward the door. Leaving after a victory, when cars would blare a honk to the tune of 'Let's go Islanders!' is also something Morrow cherishes deep down. 'I probably did it, too, at some point,' No. 6 said with a laugh. Rocking the barn The real magic, however, came inside the Uniondale walls that shook with the passion of thousands who showed up every spring to watch their Isles vie for another title in the early 1980s. 'The roar,' Morrow, who still gets standing ovations at games, recalled, 'that's a memory that will stay with me. You could hear it through the walls of the locker room. It just gave you chills to walk out.' Rather than looking back at the glory days that well predate state-of-the-art UBS Arena, he's enthusiastic about what the team has done since — especially when the old barn rocked at dynasty-level decibels. Morrow distinctly recalls the shaking that followed the Shawn Bates penalty shot of 2002 and the Isles' conference final run nearly two decades later in 2021. 'There's something about the old barn, and there have been some great moments in the history of the New York Islanders — especially in the playoffs,' Morrow said. 'It doesn't take much to bring that out in our fans today.'

How MI have performed in do-or-die league games in IPL over the years
The playoff qualification drama of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) has come down to the wire. When the five-time champions Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals take the field at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday, May 21, both teams will desperately need to win the match to finish in the top four positions in the IPL 2025 points table. When the season started, everyone would have said that DC would walk away with an easy win, but as the season has progressed, MI have changed the scale and will walk in as the favourites to win the match. MI will be favourites not only because of their current form but also because of how they have performed in do-or-die league games in the IPL over the years. They have been one of the most successful teams when it comes to securing wins in must-win games. So before they host DC in a must-win game of IPL 2025, let's take a look at how they have performed in similar matches in the tournament's history. The 2014 Miracle: Net Run Rate Drama In one of the most thrilling finishes in IPL history, MI needed not just a win but a specific margin of victory to qualify for the playoffs in their final league game against Rajasthan Royals. Batting second, MI chased down 190 in just 14.4 overs, thanks to Corey Anderson's explosive 95*. A boundary off the final ball from Aditya Tare sealed qualification on net run rate—one of the most iconic do-or-die wins in IPL history. 2015: From Bottom to Champions After losing five of their first six matches in IPL 2015, MI needed to win nearly every remaining game to qualify. Batting first, MI posted 235/9 with Ishan Kishan scoring a rapid 84. Despite a strong effort, MI could only win by 42 runs—falling short of the qualification mark. While they didn't make it, their performance in the do-or-die clash showed their fighting spirit. 2023: Chasing a Playoff Spot on the Last Day In IPL 2023, MI once again found themselves in a last-day scenario. They needed to win against Sunrisers Hyderabad and hope RCB lost their match. MI did their part, chasing down 200+ with Cameron Green scoring a stunning century.
