Vic Chou responds to rumours of F4's 25th anniversary reunion , Entertainment News

If Taiwanese pop group Energy could reunite and make their comeback after over a decade of hiatus, does that mean there's hope for the disbanded F4 too? Yesterday (June 4), Taiwan's Mirror Media reported that the Mandopop group — made up of Vic Chou, Jerry Yan, Ken Chu and Van Ness Wu — reached an agreement to reunite for a 2026 concert, celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut. At the premiere of his Taiwanese drama The World Between Us: After The Flames 2 yesterday, Vic addressed the news. The actor, who turns 44 on June 9, shared that he receives invitations for a reunion every year but it ultimately falls through each time. He explained it's mainly because he wants the reunion to be more than a money-making venture. When he asked the other parties what plans they had, he never received a response. He admitted to reporters yesterday that he does not know whether F4 will reunite this time. When the media wondered what his fellow group mates thought, Vic joked: "Go ask them, why ask me?" He added: "I don't feel much pressure when I'm on F4 activities. I'm the youngest in the group and I just need to be crazy and funny." F4 rose to fame after the four acted in Taiwanese idol drama Meteor Garden (2001) and they released three albums together. In 2009, the group disbanded and since then, have only performed together once in 2013 at Jiangsu Television's Spring Festival Gala. [[nid:718729]]

Photo: Handout F4, one of the top Taiwanese boy bands alongside groups such as Energy and 5566 during the 2000s, could be making a comeback in 2026. According to an exclusive report by Taiwan's Mirror Media on June 4, the four members of the Mandopop act have finally reached an agreement and will reunite for a concert to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut. The reunion was made possible by Taiwan-based recording company B'in Music, which was behind the comeback of Energy in 2024. F4 consisted of Taiwanese stars Jerry Yan, 48; Vic Chou, 43; and Ken Chu, 46; as well as Taiwanese-American Van Ness Wu, 46. The quartet were brought together as a boy band in 2001 after acting in Taiwanese idol drama Meteor Garden (2001), which also starred the late Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu. Meteor Garden was such a phenomenon in Asia that the four men went on to record three albums and hold concert tours as F4. The group were later renamed JVKV, using the first letter of each of the members' names, due to copyright issues. The members went their separate ways in 2009 and have since performed together at Jiangsu Television's Spring Festival Gala only in 2013. After the split, Yan continued to act and occasionally took part in Chinese variety shows, while Wu is focusing on variety shows and commercial performances in China. Chu currently conducts live-stream sales, while Chou furthered his acting career, with his latest role in the upcoming drama series The World Between Us: After The Flames (2025). According to Mirror Media, B'in Music – which managed to convince Energy to reunite 15 years after their disbandment – has a list of former popular boy bands which it hopes to lobby for reunion, with F4 being top on the list. B'in Music, which includes Taiwanese bands Mayday and Accusefive in its stable of artistes, reportedly spent a long time talking to the four members, who are represented by different agencies. The task was made more difficult as the quartet were said to have split due to differences in their personalities and feelings of jealousy and unfairness between them. However, the success of Energy's reunion in 2024 proved to be a key factor in convincing them to come together again. Mirror Media said the huge marketability of F4 would be a big draw for the reunion concert and that the group may also tour Asia, in addition to focusing on China and Taiwan. – The Straits Times/Asia News Network

Nikki Hsieh assures all is well with Wang Po-chieh

6 May - Nikki Hsieh recently assured that everything is well with her and Wang Po-chieh, following multiple reports about breakup and engagement. Nikki, who started dating Wang after working together in the TV series "Light the Night" in 2021, sparked breakup rumour last year before they were reported to have patched things up in March and got engaged. This was after the actress posted a photo of a wedding ring on Instagram Story that she immediately deleted. When asked about the breakup and the supposed engagement during an appearance to promote her new drama, Nikki said that she and Wang are doing fine and that she is thankful for everybody's concern. "In fact, this is something that happens between a couple. It's nothing. It seems that there is no need to tell everyone in so much detail," she said. As to whether they are still in a relationship, she responded, "Yes". Regarding the photo of the diamond ring that she quickly deleted in March, she said, "I just posted it randomly, it's nothing... That wasn't my hand! There was no [proposal]." (Photo Source: Sin Chew, Mirror Media)

Kenshin Kamimura kicked out of ONE N' ONLY

7 Mar - It was revealed that Kenshin Kamimura has been kicked out of his group, ONE N' ONLY, following allegation of indecent assault. The news was announced by his agency, Stardust Promotion, saying that they have terminated Kenshin's management contract due to serious compliance violations, and apologised to fans and those involved. They added that from now on, ONE N' ONLY will only proceed with their activities as a five-member group, including for their upcoming live tour. It was earlier this week that a blind item alleged that a Japanese man was arrested after inappropriately touching a Hong Kong woman at a restaurant in Mong Kok. Several Hong Kong news outlets later reported the man to be Kenshin, and that the incident occurred at a celebratory dinner following a fan meeting on 1 March, where a female interpreter was present. It was during this time that the woman was allegedly molested. The victim called the police and a social worker the next day, and Kenshin was thereafter arrested. His trial is set for 15 April at the West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts. (Photo Source: Mirror Media, Billboard)
