Miss Thailand Crowned 72nd Miss World, Makes History for Her Country

After a month-long celebration of beauty, purpose, and global unity, the 72nd Miss World pageant concluded in spectacular fashion with Miss Thailand being crowned the new Miss World, marking a historic first for her country. Her victory not only celebrated grace and intelligence but also the triumph of purpose-driven action on a global stage. Speaking exclusively with The Hans India, Opal Suchata aka the new Miss World shared her excitement and gratitude. She said,"Feels like a dream. The first person I talked to was my mother and also my family and my team. They were all in the audience to support me." She dedicated this victory to her people calling them the reason for her win. The grand finale lit up the night with electrifying performances by Jacqueline Fernandez and Ishaan Khatter, adding Bollywood flair and high-energy glamour to an evening filled with emotion and anticipation. In the audience were also present CM of Telangana A. Revanth Reddy, Megastar Chiranjeevi, Vijay Devarakonda among other high profile guests. The event reached its emotional peak when Krystyna Pyszkova, the 71st Miss World, gracefully passed on the crown to her successor, marking the beginning of a new chapter. The Final Showdown: Top 4 Questions That Defined the Night In one of the most anticipated segments of the evening, the Top 4 finalists were each asked a thought-provoking question during the judges' round- a defining moment that showcased their wisdom, authenticity, and presence of mind. Miss Martinique - Question by Manushi Chhillar: 'In a world of misinformation, how can we lead with truth, dignity, and gratitude?' Miss Martinique, who also won the title of Miss World Caribbean, reflected deeply, urging people to trust their intuition and hearts to discern truth. She emphasized the importance of understanding and evaluating information with care, encouraging a path led by honesty and self-awareness. Miss Ethiopia- Question by Rana Daggubati:'Miss World stands for character and purpose. How do you respond to those who may be misled into thinking it's just another beauty contest?' Making history as the first Ethiopian to reach this stage, she delivered a heartfelt message: 'This is for the mothers and children out there.' She stressed that Miss World is far more than beauty- it's about impact, purpose, and change. She won the title of Miss World Miss World Africa. Miss Poland - Question by Namrata Shirodkar:'What truth about your experience in Telangana would you share that no headline or rumor could capture?' Miss Poland, at a very young age of 19, spoke warmly about her personal journey in India, calling it a transformative experience. 'As a shy girl, I found connection, warmth, and friendship. Telangana became our second home. Nothing is more important than the people we meet,' she said. For her brilliant journey and sensible answer she bagged the title of Miss World Europe. Miss Thailand- Question by Sonu Sood: 'What has this journey taught you about truth and personal responsibility in shaping how stories are told?' In a poised and powerful response that won Opal Suchata the Miss World 2025 title, she said, 'I've learned the responsibility we carry in how our stories are perceived. We are the storytellers, and often, we are the people others look up to. There's always someone beside you whose life you can impact.' A Historic Win for Thailand Miss Thailand's win was not just a personal achievement; it was a national milestone. As the first woman from Thailand to ever win Miss World, she carved her name into the history books. Her answer, authenticity, and presence resonated with the judges and audience alike, sealing her place as the new Miss World. The night also awarded Sonu Sood as the youngest recipient of Humanitarian award for his philanthropic deeds while, Sudha Reddy was honoured as the Global Ambassador of Beauty with Purpose award.

Hyderabad: Thailand's Opal Suchata Chuangsri was crowned the 72nd Miss World on Saturday, with reigning Miss World Krystena Pyskova doing the honours for Miss Thailand in the presence of Chairman and CEO of Miss World organization Julia Morley and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. Ethiopia's Hasset Dereje Admassu was the runner-up at the final contest. Among other contestants, Poland's Maja Klajda was in third place and America and the Caribbean's Martinique in the fourth place. The grand finale was held at a glittering and colourful ceremony held at HICC on Saturday. The winner Opal is a student of international relations. She has an interest in Psychology and Anthropology and she would one day like to be an ambassador. She has volunteered for organisations working in the field of breast cancer. Opal has a special talent for playing the Ukelele backwards and has sixteen cats and five dogs as pets, according to the Miss World website. India's Miss World contestant Nandini Gupta was eliminated before she could reach top 8. Nandini Gupta had raised hopes by becoming one of the five candidates shortlisted from Asia and Oceanian but could not proceed in the next round as two contestants from Asia and Oceania Miss Phillipines and Miss Thailand progressed to the next round. The top four contestants selected for the final round were Miss Martinique from America and the Caribbean, Hasset Dereje Admassu from Ethiopia, Miss Poland from Europe and Miss Thailand from Asia and Oceania. The top two contestants from each continent included Miss Brazil and Miss Martinique from America and the Caribbean, Miss Ethiopia and Miss Namibia from Africa, Miss Poland and Ukraine from Europe and finally Miss Phillipines and Miss Thailand. There was spotlight on Telangana culture as the contestants wore traditional Indian dresses like lehanga choli, Sharara and others designer by Archana Kochar. The jury consisted of Caryna Tyrrel, Sudha Reddy, Rana Daggubati, Jayesh Ranjan, Julia Morley, Manushri Chillar, Namrata Shirodkar, Sonu Sood and Dona Walsh. Film star Jackline Fernandes enthralled the audience with some popular Bollywood and Tollywood numbers like 'Chitiya Kalaiyan we...', 'Pani Pani hogayi.', Lomba Lomba chool', 'Ra Ra enta sakka'. There was an electrifying dance performance by Ishan Khattar with popular song Natu Natu, zingzing zinghat. Actor Sonu Sood was awarded Miss World Humanitarian Award for his work during COVID19 in India. He became the youngest to receive the award in the history of Miss World. Actor Rana Daggubati presented the award to Sonu Sood.

Miss Thailand Opal Suchata Chuangsri was crowned Miss World 2025 at the 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, Telangana on Saturday. The winner was crowned by Miss World 2024 Krystyna Pyszková, marking the culmination of weeks of cultural exchange, competition and celebration. Hosted by former Miss World 2016 Stephanie Del Valle and Indian television personality Sachiin Kumbhar, the grand finale brought together 108 contestants from around the globe. The top contestants had advanced through a series of fast-track events such as the Head to Head Challenge, Top Model, Beauty with a Purpose, Talent, Sports, and Multimedia, before being narrowed down to 40 quarterfinalists, then a Top 10 in each continental group, followed by the Top 5, Top 2, and finally, one crowned winner. The evening was as intellectually charged as it was glamorous. Finalists were put through a round of thought-provoking questions by the panel of judges. Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar asked Miss Martinique Aurélie Joachim how world leaders can lead with truth in the age of misinformation. Ms. Joachim responded: 'We have to take our time to understand what kind of information we have, verify it, and then choose the right response.' Actor Rana Daggubati posed a question to Miss Ethiopia Hasset Dereje Admassu on how to change the perception of beauty pageants. She replied, 'Miss World is more than beauty. I'm the first-ever Ethiopian to reach this stage. It's about purpose, and it matters to mothers and children across the world.' Miss Poland Maja Klajda was asked by actor Namrata Shirodkar about her experience in Telangana that the headlines couldn't capture. Ms. Klajda reflected on her personal growth and said, 'My biggest achievement was overcoming shyness. Telangana's hospitality reminded me of home, it's been a second family. My most memorable moment was witnessing the compassion shown during our visit to a medical tourism facility.' Actor Sonu Sood asked Miss Thailand Opal Suchata Chuangsri what the journey taught her about storytelling and personal responsibility. 'I've learned we must become people our loved ones look up to,' she said. 'No matter how far we go, our actions should always speak louder.' Each continental group produced a winner after a rapid-fire 45-second round where they were asked why they deserved the crown. The continental queens were Miss Martinique (Americas and Caribbean), Miss Ethiopia (Africa), Miss Poland (Europe), and Miss Thailand (Asia and Oceania). Earlier in the evening, the top 10 contestants were selected from each region. For Asia and Oceania, this included India, Indonesia, Thailand and others. From Africa, finalists hailed from nations, including Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Namibia. Europe saw strong contenders from Ireland, Italy and Poland, while the Americas and Caribbean featured candidates from Argentina, Martinique and the United States, among others. The winner of the prestigious 'Beauty with a Purpose' round was Miss Indonesia Monica Kezia Sembiring, who impressed with her project Pipeline for Lifeline, aimed at improving access to clean water and sanitation in underserved communities. Tensions heightened as the Top 2 from each region were announced. Brazil and Martinique led in the Americas and Caribbean; Ethiopia and Namibia in Africa; Poland and Ukraine in Europe; and the Philippines and Thailand from Asia and Oceania. India exited the competition at this stage. The event was punctuated with captivating performances, including a spirited Bollywood dance segment by Jacqueline Fernandez and actor Ishaan Khatter. Actor Sonu Sood was presented with the Miss World Humanitarian Award by Rana Daggubati, both of whom also served as judges alongside Sudha Reddy, Dr. Caryna Turrell (Miss England 2014), and Julia Morley, Chairperson and CEO of the Miss World Organisation, who announced the final result. The month-long celebration in Telangana featured historical tours, cultural showcases and a global platform for advocacy and empowerment. As Ms. Manushi Chhillar summed up, 'Isn't it better to light one candle in the dark than not to see at all? These women are not here just to be admired, they are here to bring change.'
