In one of the most unexpected Hollywood-K-pop crossovers, BTS's Jin recently got to interview none other than the Mission: Impossible star Tom Cruise on his YouTube show. Tom Cruise appeared on episode 35 of the idol's variety show Run Jin, leaving their entire fandom amused and surprised. The particular episode titled Mission: Jin-Possible is currently streaming on the band's official YouTube channel, BANGANTV, and the views are climbing by the second.
While fans couldn't help but love the bond between the stars on the show, a few behind-the-scenes details are now also catching much traction. Touching upon how the Hollywood star happened to be on his show, Jin revealed that it was Tom Cruise's team that actually reached out to him, asking for the interview on the show. In return, Jin promised the arrangement. 'We didn't reach out first — it was Tom Cruise's team who said they wanted to appear. So we planned the broadcast around that," Jin said on Wendy's radio show, Young Street.
Not just that, Jin also got the opportunity to see a special pre-screening of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning before its theatrical release, as per Koreaboo.

On the other hand, Tom Cruise has also expressed his admiration for the K-pop band and Jin while confirming his appearance on the show. 'The band is very talented, very talented. It's fun to watch, man, and they work hard. That's a lot of talent. It's cool," he said in an interview. It is worth mentioning that Tom recently arrived in Korea for the promotion of the final Mission: Impossible film, during which he took part in the Run Jin. In one such moment, Tom interacted with Jin's family via video call, with the idol telling his mother, 'Tom Cruise is here. He wanted to video call you. Looks like they were all having a meal." The actor also inquired about Jin's grandfather and then spoke to his uncle.
Ever since, fans have been gushing over the endearing bond and interactions between the stars in the interview. On the work front, Jin has been busy with his professional commitments since his discharge from the military. In November last year, Jin released his debut solo studio album, Happy, followed by an OST titled Close To You in January 2025.
