Adelaide v West Coast AFL Round 11: Live updates, SuperCoach scores, teams
Adelaide returns to home comforts to take on West Coast, a game in which the Crows' faithful will be expecting a win on Sunday. And with good reason, because once again the Crows are a much stronger side at Adelaide Oval than it is on the road. Matthew Nicks' squad lost no fans in their 10-point loss to Collingwood at the MCG last week, but it did not do anything to dispel one of the big knocks on the Crows in recent years – they struggle away. Through the first 10 games of 2025, the Crows are 1-3, with the sole win a convincing one over Essendon at the MCG. Last year it was 3-7 with wins over Carlton, North Melbourne and the Bombers outside of Adelaide, while in 2023 it was 2-8 with wins over Hawthorn and the Eagles. Defender Mitch Hinge said he did not think the travel was contributing to the close losses away from home, including by one point to Gold Coast in round 4. 'It is probably a funny one, we look at this year and we had that really close one against Gold Coast and we see the quality of opposition they are at the moment so that's one we would have loved to steal,' he said. 'On the weekend you look at Collingwood, who are such a good side. 'Trends exist but I don't look too far back with how our form has been on the road.' But for some Crows, the drop-off in form out of South Australia compared to games at Adelaide Oval is becoming stark. Max Michalanney's discrepancy between home and away Champion Data rating points is 47 per cent, Alex Neal-Bullen and Mark Keane's is 30 per cent. Isaac Cumming's rating points for away games is 28 per cent less than his ones at home, Josh Rachele 27 per cent and Rory Laird 20 per cent. For the Crows to end their finals drought, they will be hoping these discrepancies are shortened in their away games to come. After the Eagles on Sunday, the Crows take on Sydney at the SCG where they haven't won since 2019. Other away games to come include Hawthorn in Launceston, Richmond at the MCG, the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium, the Eagles at Optus Stadium and North Melbourne at Marvel. The Crows have a good opportunity to change the perception around them. 'I think we are a different side,' Hinge said. 'We are looking to win more games and I think we are in the spot to win these games, whether or not it is the away stuff I am not too sure. 'It is something we talk about, Nicksy is big on us being over there for a job and to get the four points and what are the things that you are doing personally at home or what can we do as a group to set us up well to win these games.'

Adelaide backman suspended, teammate fined
Mitch Hinge will be forced to watch the Crows' clash with Carlton from the stands due to suspension. (James Ross/AAP PHOTOS) Credit: AAP Adelaide defender Mitch Hinge has been suspended for one game for a punch which stunned Fremantle's Andrew Brayshaw. Hinge has been cited for striking by match review officer Michael Christian after landing a quick jab on Brayshaw in the second quarter of the Dockers' win on Friday night. The dashing backman will miss Adelaide's home clash against Carlton next Saturday afternoon after his blow was deemed intentional, high contact and low impact. Hinge's fellow defender Josh Worrell has been offered a $3000 fine for misconduct on Docker Michael Frederick in a third-quarter incident. The Crows are among a pack of clubs with four wins and three losses after slipping to an 18-point away defeat to Fremantle.

Crows midfielder delivers ‘uppercut' to Fremantle's Andrew Brayshaw
Adelaide Crows midfielder may come under scrutiny from the AFL's Match Review Officer after appearing to punch a Fremantle player on Friday night. The incident unfolded in the second quarter of the contest with Mitch Hinge striking Andrew Brayshaw. Brayshaw received a free kick for the high shot and after the game questions were raised if Hinge may have a case to answer for. 'This one's from early in the game. It was Mitch Hinge on Andy Brayshaw. So it happened right in front of us, actually, on the boundary. So this is the incident right here,' Daniels said post-game on Channel 7. Watch the eyebrow raising moment in the video player above 'As you can see, a little jab there. Brayshaw got a free kick, which was taken in the pocket, had a shot for goal and missed, but that's an interesting one. 'The MRO will definitely have a look at that. 'I don't think it's severe impact. He played on, obviously, so he doesn't have that to worry about, but it is a high one.' AFL great Nick Riewoldt wasn't a fan of the optics and believes Hinge could be set to receive a suspension. 'It's a strike, it's a left uppercut,' Riewoldt added. 'So he, he gets a week (suspension) or he gets a fine.' Daniel however said the incident is most likely to result in only a fine due to the lack of impact. 'I don't think there was too much malice in it,' he said. 'He gave away the free kick and, as I said, it wasn't severe. He played on, Brayshaw, and he won the medal (for best on ground), so couldn't have been too bad.' The impact on the hit didn't affect Brayshaw who led the way for the Dockers, finishing with a game-high 37 disposals which included six clearances and 522 metres gained. His display saw him claim the inaugural Arthur Leggett Medal for best afield during the Anzac Day clash. 'I'm very honoured,' he said during the post-game ceremony. 'We spoke to someone from the Hall family and they told us the story of going to the First World War, and the feathers we're wearing tonight in remembrance of that. 'To be able to play on actual Anzac Day is an absolute privilege, and the Leggett and Hall families lost someone and there are so many people and families that have been affected by war. 'So, for us to be able to represent them in a small way and try and play with some courage, a bit of attitude, I'm just very grateful.'

Adelaide Crows winger Mitch Hinge delivers ‘uppercut' to Freo star Andy Brayhsaw
Adelaide winger Mitch Hinge is under the microscope for for delivering a nasty jab to Fremantle star Andrew Brayshaw in their clubs' Anzac Day battle on Friday night at a jampacked at Optus Stadium. The incident happened in the second quarter of the Dockers' 18-point victory over the Crows, and Brayshaw received a free kick for the high shot. After the game, Channel 7 AFL reporter Ryan Daniels called it 'interesting', while AFL legend Nick Riewoldt described it as an 'uppercut'. 'This one's from early in the game (on Friday). It was Mitch Hinge on Andy Brayshaw. So it happened right in front of us, actually, on the boundary. So this is the incident right here,' Daniels said as he ran the Channel 7 vision of the moment. 'As you can see, a little jab there. Brayshaw got a free kick, which was taken in the pocket, had a shot for goal and missed, but that's an interesting one. 'The MRO will definitely have a look at that. 'I don't think it's severe impact. He played on, obviously, so he doesn't have that to worry about, but it is a high one.' The fact that it is a punch to head will raise eyebrows at AFL House. The AFL has been under scrutiny for its seemingly double standard on hits to the head, particularly after Richmond's Noah Balta assault on a man outside a club last December. Riewoldt didn't like the look of it and said a sanction was on the way. 'It's a strike, it's a left uppercut,' Riewoldt said. 'So he, he gets a week (suspension) or he gets a fine.' Daniel said Hinge would probably be fined due to the lack of impact. 'I don't think there was too much malice in it,' he said. 'He gave away the free kick and, as I said, it wasn't severe. He played on, Brayshaw, and he won the medal, so couldn't have been too bad.' Brayshaw was in top form for the game and claimed the first-ever Arthur Leggett Medal with maximum votes. After their defensive pressure was put on notice during the week, Brayshaw led from the front as the Dockers led the Crows from start to finish in the 18-point Len Hall Tribute game. His five tackles set the tone on defence before Brayshaw burned Adelaide the other way, collecting an incredible 37 disposals, six clearances and 522 metres gained. Brayshaw was also massive in the loss to Melbourne last week; the Arthur Leggett Medal a fine reward for his efforts across the last fortnight. 'So, for us to be able to represent them in a small way and try and play with some courage, a bit of attitude, I'm just very grateful.' Caleb Serong and Hayden Young, 32 and 20 touches respectively, also put together fine arguments for the medal, but Brayshaw's four-quarter effort and leadership were match-defining. The votes were handed down by a panel of four that included Daniels and Channel 7's Erin Phillips, as well as Fox Footy commentator and former Hawk Shaun Burgoyne and SEN's Tim Gossage. The Dockers' Anzac Day Medal was renamed the Arthur Leggett Medal ahead of the Crows clash after the WWII veteran's recent passing at the incredible age of 106. Leggett has played special parts in previous Len Hall Tribute games. As part of the Anzac commemorations a touching ceremony was held before the bounce and selected Fremantle members who have served or are serving in the armed forces were given a lap of honour.
