CM inaugurates Bhupatipur-Punpun elevated road

inaugurated the Bhupatipur-Punpun (NH-22) at grade/elevated road section under the Mithapur-Mahuli-Punpun project on Monday.
The road, constructed with an expenditure of Rs 1,105 crore, will provide ease of travelling to lakhs of people living in the southern part of the state capital.
Commuting to the South Bihar districts such as Jehanabad, Arwal, Nalanda and Gaya will also become easier through this road.
It will now take five to six minutes to travel from Sipara to Mahuli through the ramp built near Bhupatipur.
The work on Mithapur-Mahuli elevated road is going on in two phases. The first phase, from Sipara to Mahuli, has been completed. Since a lot of changes have been made in the structure of the route from Mithapur to Sipara, the provision of Phase-II has also been made for Mithapur-Sipara-Mahuli-Punpun Path Project.
In Phase-II, a 2.10-km-long elevated road has been constructed from Mithapur to Sipara. A provision has also been made for a four-lane road to cover a total distance of 2.20 km from Mahuli to Punpun.
The CM directed the officials to complete the remaining work in two months. He inspected the route from Bhupatipur to Mahuli Halt along with road construction department minister Nitin Nabin.
Nitish said the Mithapur-Mahuli elevated road will provide convenience to the people of South Patna.

"People commuting to Punpun will also get better road connectivity," Nitish said and added that this road will facilitate people to go to Gaya Ji, Jehanabad, Arwal, Aurangabad and Rajgir.
Nitish, while returning, stopped near Sipara where the officials told him that the construction of Mithapur-Mahuli elevated will be done over the Sipara bridge and will meet at the Mithapur flyover roundabout.
The RCD minister said the Mithapur-Mahuli elevated road will greatly benefit the expansion of Patna.
"Connectivity to Patna Ring Road will also be provided so that people going inside and outside the city experience smooth travel," Nabin said.

he minister said people from Punpun and Mahuli will be able to get down near Sipara via the elevated road. "An approach road has been built to reach the bypass from there. People will be able to reach Mahuli and Punpun from Sipara in 10 minutes through this 4-lane road," he said.
He said a high quality sound absorbent noise barrier has been provided in the entire length of the elevated road to avoid traffic noise. Cemented drains have also been constructed on both sides of the road for monsoon water disposal. For smooth traffic movement at night, provision of street lights has been made in the entire length of the road with anti-glare screen in the median of the elevated path, he said.
Nabin said segmental based road deck has been constructed on CC pier so that minimum land acquisition and maximum width road can be constructed for at grade road construction.
Deputy CMs Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, water resources cum parliamentary affairs minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Patna Sahib MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, along with other public representatives and senior officers were present on the occasion.
