Dino Morea questioned in Mithi river desilting case
Bollywood actor Dino Morea and his brother Santino were questioned by the Economic Offences Wing of Mumbai Police in connection with alleged irregularities in contracts related to the desilting of the Mithi river in the city on May 27, a day after the duo were interrogated for about seven hours. The wing had earlier this month arrested two alleged middlemen - Ketan Kadam and Jay Joshi - in the case. They were produced in court and are currently in judicial custody. The two were among 13 people booked by the wing for the alleged fraud. The allegations against them include that they overcharged Mumbai's civic body, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), for dredging and other equipment. Morea, however, will be next seen in Akshay Kumar's Housefull 5. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film is set to release in theatres worldwide on June 6, 2025.

Actor Dino Morea Summoned By Mumbai Police's EOW In Mithi River Scam
Last Updated: Dino Morea Mithi River Scam: Actor Dino Morea has been summoned by the Economic Offences Wing of Mumbai Police in connection with the Mithi River desilting scam. According to EOW sources and as quoted in Free Press Journal, Dino Morea was called in for questioning after investigators found several phone calls between him, his brother Santino Morea, and key accused Ketan Kadam. The content and purpose of these calls are now being examined. The scam involves suspected misuse of funds in renting silt-pushing and dredging machines by the BMC. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) claims that Kadam and Jay Joshi charged the civic body much more than the actual cost for machines taken from Kochi-based Matprop Technical Services Pvt. Ltd. Officials believe this was done with the help of some Matprop staff and BMC's Storm Water Drains (SWD) department officers. He made his Bollywood debut with Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi in 1999, but his breakthrough came with the 2002 film Raaz, in which he starred with Bipasha Basu.
