Bears run-rule Warhawks; Snap five game skid
SPRINGFIELD–Two out hits can cause all kinds of chaos, and Joey Hawkins club created plenty of it this afternoon.
And that was a pleasant surprise for Bears fans, who wondered when this team was gonna get off the schnide and snap its five game losing streak.
But, unlike Friday's sunny and 75 degree home opener with ULM, it was 50 and blustery at Hammons Field.
However, that didn't stop the Bears bats from getting hot!
Bottom of the third, after Caden Bogenpohl doubled to left with two outs, Taeg Gollart lifted this ball to left and the wicked wind cursed Bryce Blaser, allowing Bogenpohl to score, 1-0 MSU.
Next batter, Jake McCutcheon, takes the direct route, ripping this ball down the left field line. Gollart easily touches home, 2-zip Mo-State.
And just for good measure, Nick Rodriguez drives in McCutcheon, as well. Bears scored three runs on four hits, all coming with two outs, on their way to run-ruling the Warhawks, 11-1 in seven innings.
