Gurgaon: Nuh has made a leap from 108th to 20th position among India's 112 most backward districts in the aspirational districts programme. Chief minister Nayab Singh Saini credited the transformation to focused development in education, health, nutrition, and infrastructure since 2018. Saini announced several initiatives during the Mewat development board meeting to further improve the quality of education and boost skill development in the district. The govt Model Sanskriti School will now be supervised by the Mewat development authority instead of the education department. Construction of the Unani medical college in Akera and the Mewat model college in Ferozepur Jhirka will begin soon with a fresh tender, while the driving training and research Institute in Chhapera will start in Oct. Two transit hostels will also be set up at Mewat Model School in Ferozepur Jhirka. It was also decided that a library with a seating capacity of 200 children will be built at the Nuh district headquarters. Students enrolling in professional, technical, tourism, paramedical, and PhD courses will receive Rs 75,000 per year or 75% of tuition fees, whichever is lower. To reduce dropouts, Class 11 and 12 students will receive aid under the Chief Minister Mewat Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme. Additionally, the "Mukhyamantri Mewat Utthan Yojana" will assist students preparing for competitive exams. All students scoring above 90% marks in Classes 10 and 12 will receive an incentive of Rs 51,000 each, while the students of the scheduled caste category will be given an incentive amount of Rs 1,11,000 under the Mukhyamantri Mewat Chhatar Pratibha Samman Yojana.
