Man injured in house fire in Beaufort

BEAUFORT: A house in Kampung Suasa was completely destroyed in a fire on Tuesday, leaving one male occupant injured while attempting to rescue others. The victim, identified as Sailin Kanalan, sustained burns during the incident and was subsequently taken to the Padas Damit Clinic for medical treatment. According to Beaufort Fire and Rescue Department chief Ishak Jabas, the department received an emergency call at 3:15 p.m. and promptly dispatched eight personnel along with a fire engine to the scene. 'Upon arrival at 3:47 p.m., firefighters found the 30-by-40-foot structure already 90 per cent destroyed by the fire,' he said. Several vehicles were also consumed by the flames, including a Proton Iswara, Proton Saga BLM, Nissan Vanette, and a Modenas Kriss motorcycle. Another Modenas Kriss motorcycle sustained approximately 10 per cent damage. Beaufort house fire: Man injured, several vehicles destroyed

Beaufort Fire and Rescue chief Ishak Jabas said several vehicles were also damaged in the 3.15pm incident. Firefighters arrived at 3.47pm to find the 30'x40' house 90pc destroyed. Vehicles lost in the fire included two Proton cars, a Nissan Vanette, and a Modenas Kriss motorcycle, while another motorcycle was partially burnt. The injured man, Sailin Kanalan, was hurt while trying to rescue others and was treated at Padas Damit Clinic.
