They welcomed their son Wolf on December 15, 2016, and in 2017, Mara revealed she had miscarried her and Jonathan's second child and shared a clip of the moment they found out the foetus had no heartbeat. 'We will try to be more transparent on our journey, as I see it may be helpful for others as well as ourselves,' she wrote at the time. 'We don't have to carry the weight of the world ourselves. We can help lift one another up,' she told her followers. Mara is an actress and producer in her own right. She made her debut as an extra in 2005 before starring in shows like Love Struck and Modern Music. Reporting by Emma Costigan

Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Mara Lane split as actress makes bombshell statement
Actress Mara Lane has confirmed she has split from Tudors star Jonathan Rhys Meyers. The couple, who got married in 2016, split three years ago, according to a shock statement by Mara on her social media. But the pair, who shared one son together, appear to have ended their marriage amicably as Mara praised Meyers for being one year sober this summer. Sharing a post on his Instagram of what appears to be Meyers operating a digger clearing out land, she confirmed: 'Almost three years since J and I separated and it's been a journey of clearing debris – both physically and emotionally. Thankful and excited for us both and what future holds (sic),' she said. Mara then posted another heartfelt reel of Meyers, writing: 'J also cleared his land, and he's coming up on a year of sobriety this summer. Wolf is so happy and proud of you. 'Your resilience and determination are inspiring and ready to take on new opportunities and roles and make even greater impact on world (sic). Keep going. You're awesome @jonathanrhysmeyers.' Mara made her debut as an extra in 2005 before starring in shows like Love Struck and Modern Music. She also boasts a producer title, most recently producing Edge of the World which stars the 47-year-old Dubliner. Jonathan and Mara met in 2013 and the actor got down on one knee one year after they began dating before they tied the knot in 2016. They welcomed a son, Wolf, in December 2016. But in 2017, Mara shared she had miscarried the couple's second child with a heartbreaking Instagram post. She shared a video of the moment they found out that the foetus had no heartbeat at the time. Their married life hasn't been without its ups and downs – with some of their worst moments made public. In 2018, Mara and Jonathan were involved in an altercation on an American Airlines flight from Miami to Los Angeles International Airport. It was reported that the actor began to scream at his wife during the flight. Mara stood by her husband, stating at the time that it was '8 months of sobriety and an unfortunate day of airline travel.' 'There was no argument, just me asking him to not use his e cig per stewardess' request to me and him not being himself, speaking very very unkindly. It was out of his character. It was unbeknownst to me anything that happened on flight, as I was with my son with a privacy wall up.' That same year, Jonathan told reporters he only plans to marry once in his lifetime, praising Mara as being a 'superior woman' who knows how to 'handle him'. "Everything good and beautiful in my life comes from my wife and son," he told The Times newspaper at the time. "I promise you: I will only marry once. Actors can be moody bastards and we have been through thick and thin together. She knows how to handle me." When asked what the trick is to handling him, Meyers explained: "She says, 'Go to the gym. Go for a swim. Whatever you do, get out of my sight because what you need I can't give you right now. I have a child to look after.' " He admitted at the time he never thought he'd be a father. "I never thought I'd be a father", he shared. "I was an actor and never thought I'd make a good parent. You have to be a pillar and I wanted to perform. Being a father you have to face yourself quicker. There's no time for mistakes. "You are the protector and you are responsible. Thank God that Wolf mostly has his mother's traits. But occasionally I see the temper and I think that's mine..."
