Two women caught on camera stealing, unboxing parcels in Johor
SERI ALAM: Two women were filmed fumbling through excuses after being confronted for allegedly stealing parcels from two homes in Bandar Seri Alam.
A one-minute-and-31-second video, which has since gone viral on social media, shows a man questioning the women after allegedly catching them red-handed with delivery packages which had been opened.
Initially claiming the parcels were theirs, the duo eventually admitted to pinching them from nearby houses after repeated questioning.
The man, who recorded the incident, then calmly ordered the pair to return the parcels to where they belonged.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said a police report was lodged by a 44-year-old man on the theft, which took place on May 9 at 3.49pm.
"Investigations to identify the courier company, the rightful owners of the parcels, and the suspects involved are underway," he said in a statement yesterday.
The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft, and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of network services.
Members of the public with information are urged to contact investigation officer Sergeant Mohamad Haikal Kamarulzaman at 018-9584479 or the Seri Alam police headquarters at 07-3864222.
