Grand Egyptian Museum Gears Up for Historic Opening on July 3
Final preparations are in full swing for the long-awaited opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, set to take place on July 3, according to Cabinet spokesperson Mohamed El-Homsany. Most of the interior work is now complete, with only final landscaping and access road enhancements remaining. El-Homsany confirmed that the High Committee overseeing the celebration met to finalize every detail—from logistics to ceremonial arrangements. Invitations have already been sent to world leaders, with official confirmations beginning to roll in. The opening will be followed by two days of cultural events on July 4 and 5, offering visitors a rich, immersive experience that celebrates Egypt's timeless heritage and the global significance of the museum.

Invitations of Grand Egyptian Museum inauguration to be sent to world leaders within 24 hours
ECAIRO – 14 May 2025: Cabinet Spokesperson Mohamed El-Homsany said that official invitations of the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum will be sent to Kings and Presidents of states within 24 hours. He added in televised statements that the government and Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly are keen to follow up on all preparations for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum expected on July 3. El-Homsany added that the final meetings were held on Tuesday to follow up on some important logistical matters, particularly regarding issuing invitations and following up on confirmations of attendance, as well as some aspects of the ceremony program. El-Homsany indicated that subsequent events will be organized in the days following the ceremony in a number of prominent tourist areas. All preparations have been completed, and final touches will be made to the ceremony arrangements in the coming days, the spokesperson added.
