Egypt reviews plan to revive Nazlet al-Semman as tourist destination
The Egyptian Cabinet's Spokesperson Mohamed al-Homosany said that Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has discussed plans revitalizing the Nazlet al-Semman area as a tourist destination. Homosany added in a statement on Sunday that the most prominent demands of the area's residents for revitalizing the Nazlet al-Semman area were addressed, including integration with the Pyramids area, promoting sustainable tourism, and targeting increased tourist numbers, hotel capacity, and tourism services. The plan also includes preserving archaeological sites while generating sustainable income. Following the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, Nazlet al-Semman area is expected to gain greater importance and become a major tourist destination. The strategic vision for developing the Nazlet al-Semman area revolves around two key points: Urban revitalization and restructuring of the urban environment: Rehabilitating and repurposing buildings and villas in line with the touristic nature of the area, in addition to upgrading the facades and revitalizing the natural urban fabric. Preserving the archaeological value of the site: Allowing archaeological discoveries along the ascending road, the Valley Temple, and vacant plots of land before commencing development. Development work must not conflict with preserving the archaeological value of the site, which requires the creation of a buffer zone between the archaeological area and the rest of the development areas. Several other topics were also presented, including improving visitor experience and interaction, marketing and promotion strategies, and management discussions, alongside design and architectural proposals for developing existing buildings.

Gov't spokesman: Egypt, EU agree on importance of achieving security, stability in ME
Cabinet Spokesman Counselor Mohamed al-Homosany said on Monday 3/3/2025 that there is a broad consensus between Egypt and the European Union on the importance of achieving stability in the Middle East region, a matter that will reflect positively on development efforts and security of EU countries. In a telephone interview for 'Haza El Sabah' (This Morning) on Extra News channel, the spokesman said that the two sides have common goals and interests regarding different regional issues, topped by the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories. The state of instability is clear in illegal immigration cases and unrest in the Middle East due to geographical factors, which in turn negatively affects the EU states, he added. He further underlined that Egypt has strategic ties with the EU and cooperates in many sectors, including renewable energy, IT, education, and knowledge. He cited Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly meeting with EU Commissioner for the Mediterranean Dubravka Šuica, saying it came within the framework of the European official's follow-up of efforts made to implement the EU-Egypt Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership that was signed in March 2024. He noted that Egypt signed many agreements with the EU in the area of renewable energy, particularly in green hydrogen. This partnership is based on the needs of the European market for green hydrogen and gives Egypt a great opportunity to produce renewable energy and export it to EU countries, Homosany added. Egypt provides all the necessary capabilities to attract investors in the renewable energy domain, he said, adding Egypt is also working to diversify its energy sources through the gradual increase of its renewable energy sources.
