Iraqi-Iranian environmental cooperation enhanced to address common challenges
Iraq stressed on Tuesday the importance of enhancing environmental cooperation with Iran to address common challenges.
Minister of Environment Hallo Al-Askari received the Iranian Ambassador to Iraq, Mohammad Al-Sadiq, according to a statement by the Ministry of Environment - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
Al-Askari emphasized "Iraq's keenness to enhance cooperation with Iran in the environmental sector, especially in confronting common problems such as dust storms, desertification, and the water crisis."
"Cooperation in environmental training is important, as well as awareness and benefiting from Iranian experiences. There is a necessity of joint action to provide a sustainable environmental climate that serves the interests of both peoples," he added.
In turn, the Iranian ambassador affirmed "his country's desire to enhance cooperation with Iraq in various sectors, including the environment, to support sustainable development."
