The funds will be directed towards constructing a humanitarian medical complex built to international standards, comprising a hospital, research centre, and medical training facility. This development is expected to strengthen the UAE's position in both the healthcare sector and philanthropic work. 'The vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as well as the continuous Ramadan initiatives, foster a unique global humanitarian ecosystem within the UAE, driving substantial philanthropic engagement from major contributors, institutions, and individuals,' Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi said, according to a statement by the Dubai Media Office (DMO). 'This contribution is a tribute to fathers and a reflection of Azizi Developments' commitment to supporting the UAE's charitable and humanitarian initiatives, particularly during Ramadan. We are dedicated to social responsibility and fostering a culture of giving within the UAE, aligning with the vision of our nation's leadership and the mission of MBRGI,' Azizi added. The announcement follows Azizi Developments' previous contribution of AED 600 million in March 2024, which was directed towards establishing an educational endowment complex in Dubai. This earlier donation was part of the Mothers' Endowment campaign, launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid during the previous Ramadan, which sought to create an AED 1 billion endowment fund to support global education initiatives. The educational complex, representing one of the UAE's largest charitable contributions, will generate revenue to support students in pursuing their education and acquiring skills necessary for the evolving job market. The Fathers' Endowment campaign, operating under the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, aims to advance the concept of charitable endowments while strengthening the UAE's position in humanitarian work. Dubai to Host Record-Breaking World Governments Summit 2025
Dubai is set to host the 12th edition of the World Governments Summit (WGS) from February 11 to 13, 2025, under the theme 'Shaping Future Governments.' This edition will see record-breaking international participation, making it the largest in WGS history. Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the WGS Organisation, emphasized that under the vision of UAE leadership, the summit has evolved into the world's most influential government forum. Speaking at the WGS Dialogue at Dubai's Museum of the Future, Al Gergawi highlighted the event's commitment to proactive governance, global partnerships, and sustainable progress. The summit will welcome over 30 heads of state and government, 80+ international organizations, 140 government delegations, and more than 6,000 participants. Discussions will span 21 global forums, 200+ interactive sessions, and 30 ministerial meetings, culminating in the release of 30 strategic reports on future governance trends. Distinguished attendees include global leaders such as Prabowo Subianto (Indonesia), Andrzej Duda (Poland), and Gustavo Petro (Colombia), alongside international organizations like the IMF, OPEC, and the GCC. Industry giants, including Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Alibaba Chairman Joseph Tsai, will also participate. Key themes include Effective Governance, Global Economy, Climate Resilience, Health Transformations, and AI Integration. Notable forums will explore the Future of Mobility, AI, Education, and Zero Bureaucracy. Additionally, the summit will host the TIME100 Most Influential in AI gathering. WGS 2025 aims to provide a roadmap for governments navigating rapid transformations while fostering international collaboration.
