5.25 kg ganja seized from air passenger in Coimbatore
Officers of the Air Intelligence Unit of the Customs Department, based on intelligence inputs, intercepted a passenger from Bangkok who arrived at the Coimbatore International Airport via Singapore and seized 5.25 kg of hydroponic weed (ganja). The passenger was identified as Mohammed Faizal from Kozhikode, and the contraband was packed in five plastic bags and concealed in the luggage. The passenger who originated his journey in Bangkok travelled to Coimbatore via Singapore. The passenger has been taken into custody for further investigation under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act read with Customs Act of 1952.

The Indian School to host Platinum Jubilee Badminton Tournament
As part of its Platinum Jubilee celebrations, The Indian School Bahrain (ISB) is proud to host the ISB @ 75 Junior & Senior Open Badminton Tournament 2025 from 6th to 10th May. The event will be held at the Jashanmal Auditorium Badminton Courts, located within school's Isa Town Campus, and is officially sanctioned and supported by the Bahrain Badminton and Squash Federation (BBSF). Anniversary The Indian School Bahrain, one of the largest and most respected educational institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a wide range of events, and this open tournament stands out as a highlight in its calendar. Open to junior and senior players across the GCC, the tournament will offer a platform for budding and experienced shuttlers alike to showcase their talent in a professionally organized setting with international standard. The competition includes Boy's and Girl's Singles and Doubles in age categories U9, U11, U13, U15, U17, and U19, as well as Men's Doubles (Elite, Championship, F1 to F5 levels), Women's Doubles (Level 1 & 2), and Mixed Doubles (Level C, 1 & 2). Knockout format Matches will be played in a knockout format, strictly following BWF rules and regulations. The organizing team also includes Hon. Vice Chairman & Dr. Mohammed Faizal, Coordinator Binoj Mathew, and General Convener Adil Ahmed, with advisory support from former EC Member -Sports Rajesh MN.

The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Hon. Vice-Chairman and Hon. Member for HSSE and Sports, Dr. Mohammed Faizal, who lit the ceremonial lamp to officially commence the celebrations. Other notable attendees included ISB Hon. Secretary V. Rajapandian, Hon.
