101 buses carry JDT fans to Bukit Jalil for Malaysia Cup final

JOHOR BARU: In a spirited show of support, 101 buses filled with Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) fans have hit the road to the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, to cheer on their team in the Malaysia Cup final tonight. JDT Football Supporters Club (KPBJDT) deputy president Mohd Fadzli Sapie said 15 buses departed from the Tan Sri Dato' Haji Hassan Yunos Stadium in Larkin, while the rest departed from various districts. He said the group was joined by other supporter clubs, including Boys Of Straits (BOS), which provided nearly 80 buses. "Alhamdulillah, the weather is good this morning. All the fans are in high spirits heading to Bukit Jalil. "We will meet up with other buses that have also started moving, including those from Segamat, Pontian, Kulai, and Ayer Hitam. "Although ticket sales were somewhat sluggish this time, the enthusiasm among supporters to watch the Malaysia Cup final at the stadium is still beyond expectations," he said when met at Larkin Stadium today. Tonight, JDT will face Sri Pahang FC as they aim to defend the Malaysia Cup, which they have won for two consecutive years in 2022 and 2023. JDT also previously brought home the prestigious trophy to Johor in 2017 and 2019. Mohd Fadzli said that, based on ticket sales, about 30,000 supporters are expected to be at the Bukit Jalil stadium tonight to cheer on the football club. Also making the trip are around 100 JDT supporters from Singapore, who will be travelling from Plaza Larkin.

JDT fans to turn out in force as 30,000 expected for Malaysia Cup final at Bukit Jalil

JOHOR BARU — Nearly 30,000 loyal Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) supporters are expected to flood the grounds of the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur today from as early as 4pm for the Malaysia Cup final. According to Sinar Harian, Deputy President of the JDT Football Supporters Club (KPBJDT), Mohd Fadzli Sapie, said the figure was based on sources informing him that ticket sales were approaching that number. 'Supporters departing from the Tan Sri Datuk Haji Hassan Yunos Stadium will fill 15 buses, while the rest will be travelling from their respective districts,' he was quoted as saying. 'This season, KPBJDT has joined forces with other fan clubs including the Boys of Straits (BOS), who have arranged nearly 100 buses. We'll be meeting with other buses coming from Segamat, Pontian, Kulai, and Ayer Hitam. 'Although ticket sales have been somewhat sluggish this time around, the turnout of fans wanting to watch the Malaysia Cup final at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium has been beyond expectations,' he told Sinar Harian when met earlier at the Tan Sri Haji Hassan Yunos Stadium. Tonight's clash between JDT and Sri Pahang FC will be a nostalgic affair, marking a rematch of the 2014 final, which saw Pahang lift the trophy on penalties. JDT, meanwhile, are aiming to defend their title after winning the cup consecutively in 2022 and 2023.
