State Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Mohd Hafiz Mohd Shahid said firefighters used rescue tools to extricate the victim's body from the wreckage. "The deceased was handed over to the police for further action," he said in a statement. The lorry driver, a 41-year-old man, sustained injuries and was treated on-site before being transferred to hospital. The lorry was carrying a load of hardware items when the collision occurred. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
