Can't repay debt neither to martyr nor his family: Governor pays tribute to Mohd Imtiyaz
1 2 3 Chhapra: Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Wednesday paid tribute to BSF sub-inspector Mohd Imtiyaz, killed in line of duty during heavy Pakistani firing at the international border in RS Pura sector of Jammu and Kashmir on May 10, and consoled his family members at his native Narayanpur village under Garkha block in Saran district. This comes a day after CM Nitish Kumar and leader of opposition in the state assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, visited the Narayanpur village on governor said there could be no greater person than the one who became a martyr for his country. "We cannot repay the debt neither to the martyr nor to his bereaved family," said the governor, adding that a memorial should be built to honour Imtiyaz. The CM has already declared that a new health sub-centre and memorial will be set up in the village to honour the fallen soldier, besides naming a 2km stretch of road from Chintamanganj Bridge to Rahampur Bazar after Imtiaz. A gate at the entrance of Jalal-Basant panchayat, under which Narayanpur village falls, will also be constructed and named Shaheed Imtiaz Dwar. The family members have also demanded that a college be established in the village in the honour of the martyr. The governor said he would see to it that the demands of the bereaved family are fulfilled. Local MLC Sachchidanand Ray, vice-chancellor of Jai Prakash University, Parmendra Kumar Bajpai; Saran DIG, district magistrate, senior superintendent of police, DDC and other officials accompanied the governor to the village. Despite a pall of gloom engulfing the village, the air was filled with pride that a brave son of the soil made the supreme sacrifice for the country during Operation Sindoor.

Nitish offers Rs 50 lakh compensation to the martyr Md Imtiyaz
Patna, May 13 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced an ex gratia of Rs 50 lakh to the family of BSF sub-inspector Mohd Imtiyaz, who was martyred during Operation Sindoor. Kumar said here on Tuesday that Rs 29 lakh will be given from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund and Rs 21 lakh from the state exchequer. The compensation amount will be handed soon. The mortal remains of BSF Sub-Inspector Mohammed Imteyaz, who was killed in the cross-border shelling by Pakistan, were laid to rest on Monday evening at his native village Narayanpur of Garkha police station area of Saran district of Bihar.
