Newcastle United Are Keeping A Keen Eye On This Atletico Madrid Full-Back: Decent Fit For Howe?

In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Newcastle United are keeping a keen eye on Atletico Madrid full-back Nahuel Molina. It is believed that the Magpies are eyeing a £17.5m move to bring the Argentine defender this summer. Molina's Decent Run Of Form In La Liga Molina managed to catch the eye at times with his performances on the right side of Diego Simeone's defence during this campaign. The Argentine talent has been involved in 44 matches for the Spanish outfit this season, scoring one goal and securing three assists across multiple competitions. Advertisement The 27-year-old has been a solid presence when defending inside his half after making 44 tackles, 16 blocks and 13 interceptions in La Liga this season. He has even distributed possession relatively well from the right flank based on his pass success rate of 79.9% in the Spanish first division (stats via Molina is under contract at the Madrid club until the summer of 2027 which would make it difficult for the Magpies to land him on the cheap in this transfer window. (Photo by Florencia) Will Molina Be A Decent Fit For Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe? Molina is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is a tidy passer as well. Advertisement The Argentine talent has done well to add some goals and assists to his game. However, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if Newcastle manage to get him on board this off-season. Molina would no doubt enhance the quality of the Tyneside club's backline. He is good enough to compete for a regular first-team spot at St. James' Park in the coming seasons. At 25, Molina is playing in his prime at the moment and could help the Magpies compete across all fronts over the next few years. Hence, he would be a good fit for Howe's needs in the short term. However, Molina might need some time to adapt to life at Newcastle, so Howe has to be patient before he can get the best out of the talented right-back.

Liverpool KEEN on Argentine defender

This summer, no transfer link will be left un-turned and if it is plausible that a player who could assist Liverpool is interested in a move to Merseyside then they will be added to a shortlist. Now the the Premier League is secured, Arne Slot is to be financially backed this summer and a significant turnover of players is expected, which will require them to be replaced accordingly. Advertisement If we take Trent Alexander-Arnold for example; Conor Bradley will step up in his place, but the services of Jeremie Frimpong will be useful to help replace the English right-back's creativity. But that's not all. Until a linked player is confirmed by the club, you can expect to see other transfer links with players who were considered earlier on in the process. This is what looks to have been the case with Nahuel Molina at Atletico Madrid. © IMAGO Argentine right-back on Liverpool's radar According to the Spanish news outlet MARCA, Liverpool were considering a move for Molina this season, a 27-year-old reliable full-back who is known for his attacking forages from time to time. Advertisement Capable of playing as a right-sided defender or a right-sided midfielder, he has been an important asset in Diego Simeone's system for three seasons now, playing regular minutes in all competitions. Off the ball he would help create attacks moving forward and when his team were in danger of being counter-attacked, he would never shy away from putting in a crunching tackle. After a mildly successful three-year spell in Spain, for which he cost Atletico £17m to move from Udinese, he would've offered Liverpool an experienced pair of hands at the back to cover Trent in the short-term, although presumably he will not be a player that is considered moving forward.

Molina Healthcare of Michigan and The MolinaCares Accord Pledge $150,000 to Wayne Metro Community Action Agency to Improve Housing Security

DETROIT, May 21, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Molina Healthcare of Michigan ("Molina"), in collaboration with The MolinaCares Accord ("MolinaCares"), announced a grant of $150,000 to the Wayne Metro Community Action Agency ("Wayne Metro") in support of its efforts to provide stable housing for low-income families and improve the overall wellness of those they serve. The funding will help pay for essential items and services needed to maintain a livable housing environment for Detroiters facing financial struggles. Research shows the median household income in Detroit is nearly a third lower than the rest of the state and 60% of Detroit renters are considered cost-burdened, spending more than 30% of their income on housing and related costs. In 2023, over 20,000 individuals in the city faced evictions. Studies found people facing housing instability often forego routine and acute medical care and are more likely to have multiple chronic conditions. This grant builds upon a $100,000 contribution to Wayne Metro in 2024, which helped over 140 households with utility expenses, rental support, and other basic needs like access to nutritious foods. Individuals who received that support saw reduced health care expenses, including decreases in inpatient hospital and emergency department visits. "This is the kind of impact we strive for at Molina—healthier communities, more stable lives, and more efficient use of health care resources," said Terrisca Des Jardins, plan president of Molina Healthcare of Michigan. "Through this grant, Molina and The MolinaCares Accord are investing in people, families, and the long-term health of our Detroit and Wayne County communities." In 2023, Molina and the Molina Healthcare Charitable Foundation provided a $40,000 Save the Day Housing Fund grant to provide emergency aid to residents experiencing housing instability. "We're so grateful to Molina for this continued and expanded partnership," said Dr. Nadeem Siddiqi, CEO of Wayne Metro. "In our pursuit to eliminate poverty, this program plays a critical role in supporting our clients' needs of food, utilities, and housing. This win-win program results in direct support to clients, while reducing overall costs across the support system."
