MORGANTOWN, (WBOY) — Two men will spend several years behind bars after they were found guilty of their roles in a Morgantown drug operation. According to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice, Jason Davis, 35, of Youngstown, Ohio, will spend 11 years, 3 months in prison after court documents said he and James Peoples II, 28, of Pennsauken Township, New Jersey, worked to distribute drugs in Morgantown. Peoples will serve six years in prison. Former Buckhannon mayor sentenced on child porn charge Both Davis and Peoples were indicted in February 2024 alongside 23 others for their roles in a Philadelphia-based drug ring that operated in Morgantown. The case was investigated by the Mon Metro Drug Task Force, which is made up of members of the FBI; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; the Drug Enforcement Administration; the West Virginia State Police; the Monongalia County Sheriff's Office; the Monongalia County Prosecuting Attorney's Office; the Morgantown Police Department; the WVU Police Department; the Granville Police Department; and the Star City Police Department. MORGANTOWN, (WBOY) — A Monongalia County woman who previously pleaded guilty to drug possession will now spend more than a decade behind bars. According to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice, Stephanie Ann Allen, 34, will spend 12 years, seven months in prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl. Court documents said law enforcement officers saw Allen engage in 'suspicious activity' in the parking lot of the High Life Lounge in Morgantown, prompting a search of her vehicle. During the search, officers located 73 grams of meth, as well as seven grams of fentanyl. 'Tip of the iceberg': Amended civil suit alleges corruption in Bridgeport While being processed at the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department, deputies said Allen attempted to 'flush other bags of both heroin and methamphetamine down a toilet,' according to a criminal complaint from 2022. The release said Allen has a history of various other crimes, including burglary, robbery and drug possession. Allen is set to serve three years of supervised release following her sentence. CLARKSBURG, (WBOY) — An Elkins man has been sentenced to prison time after being found guilty of his role in a Morgantown drug ring that trafficked drugs from Philadelphia. According to a release from the United States Department of Justice, William Durnal, 60, will spend 100 months (8 years, 4 months) behind bars after he sold and possessed methamphetamine in the Morgantown area. Felon allegedly pretended to be FBI agent, stole automatic weapon from Marion County trailer Court documents say that law enforcement officers searched Durnal's home and found hundreds of grams of meth. He also has a criminal history that includes theft, forgery, burglary, battery and passing counterfeit money. Following his sentence, Durnal will serve three years of supervised release. Durnal was indicted along with 24 others in February 2024 in connection to a Philadelphia-based drug ring that distributed large amounts of meth, fentanyl and cocaine to north central West Virginia from apartments in Morgantown. The Mon Metro Drug Task Force and the Mountain Region Task Force investigated. Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley and Stephen Warner prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
