34-year-old man in Wisconsin arrested for reckless endangerment after injuring multiple people during police pursuit
MONONA, Wis. (WFRV) – A 34-year-old Wisconsin man was arrested Thursday afternoon after injuring multiple people during a police pursuit when he crashed into multiple vehicles at an intersection. The Monona Police Department reported that an officer attempted a traffic stop around 1:38 p.m. Thursday of a vehicle related to a joint agency drug operation. The suspect vehicle stopped initially; however, the driver fled after an officer approached the door. 22-year-old Wisconsin man sentenced to over 12 years in prison for armed robberies of postal workers Monona officers terminated the pursuit as the suspect vehicle drove in the direction of a middle school. Another officer saw the suspect vehicle crash into motorists stopped at an intersection. Authorities tended to the motorists and arrested the suspect driver and his passenger, a previously convicted felon. None of the injuries were life-threatening. Officers recovered cash, drugs and a firearm in the vehicle. Wisconsin police K9 helps apprehend fleeing suspect after highway pursuit
MONONA, Wis. (WFRV) – A Wisconsin woman was arrested Monday morning after allegedly fleeing police on U.S. Highway 12 and later being apprehended by a K9 unit. According to the Monona Police Department, an officer monitoring traffic near South Towne Drive spotted a vehicle matching the description of one that had earlier fled from Fitchburg police. The driver, identified as Jasmonique R. Hanger, reportedly sped recklessly down the highway despite not being actively pursued. Man arrested for alleged hit-and-run, 5th OWI in Marquette County When the officer attempted a traffic stop, Hanger allegedly refused to stop, leading to a pursuit. Police say she exited onto U.S. Highway 51, then turned onto W. Broadway before pulling into an apartment complex and fleeing on foot. Monona police deployed K9 Jakko after Hanger ignored commands to stop. The K9 unit successfully apprehended her, and she was treated at a local hospital for a bite wound before being taken to jail. Officers reportedly found a small amount of cocaine in her vehicle. While formal charges are pending, Monona police say they will refer multiple charges to the Dane County District Attorney's Office, including felony attempted eluding, resisting arrest, and cocaine possession. Multiple police agencies ultimately reported a car driving at "dangerous speeds" along the highway. One report estimated the car was driving around 110 mph as it headed toward Monona from Madison. As efforts to stop the driver unfolded, the car was spotted on Marsh Road southbound in McFarland where it failed to negotiate a turn, left the roadway and crashed into a cemetery where it hit multiple headstones. The driver, who police identified as 27-year-old Rojae Crosse of Sun Prairie, got out and ran. Officers set up a perimeter, found Crosse nearby and took him into custody. A deputy was injured while trying to take Crosse into custody. While in custody, Monona police said Crosse refused to cooperate and made multiple threats to harm and kill the officers. It was in assessing Crosse that officers noted signs of impairment. Crosse was processed for OWI and taken to a hospital as a precaution. An evidentiary blood sample was sent for testing, the results of which are pending. According to the Monona Police Department, a vehicle struck an unoccupied parked SUV in the 6300 block of Monona Drive during the early evening hours of March 16. The driver then left the scene without reporting the crash or leaving contact information. The damaged vehicle, a 2025 BMW SUV, sustained thousands of dollars in damage. According to the Monona Police Department, officers spotted a vehicle around 3:15 a.m. that had reportedly fled from the Wisconsin State Patrol just 15 minutes earlier.
