Scam warning over comic con tickets to meet Vampire Diaries star
THE ORGANISERS of Comic Con Midlands have warned fans after tickets to meet one of the high-anticipated guest stars sold out.
Taking to Facebook over the weekend, Monopoly Event, which is running the new Comic Con Midlands event at the NEC in Birmingham later this year, told Vampire Diaries fans that no more tickets for their highly sought-after Ian Somerhalder meet and greet will be going on sale.
They said tickets being sold in the comments sections of their posts on social media 'tend to be a scam', urging fans who were hoping to meet the face behind Damon Salvatore not to fall victim.
In their post on February 1, Monopoly Events said: 'Please note, we will not be adding any more tickets for Ian on sale. Please do not purchase tickets from anyone in the comment section, these tend to be a scam.
'Tickets for Paul Wesley are still on sale but are selling extremely FAST so be sure to secure yours now at
Somerhalder, along with his co-star, Paul Wesley, were the first two headline guest stars announced for Comic Con Midlands, much to the delight of UK fans of the US TV teen drama, The Vampire Dairies.
As well as Damon and Stef Salvatore, more exciting celebrity guests will be announced in the run-up to the event, which is set to take place on July 12 and July 13.
Fellow Vampire Diaries cast members, Daniel Gillies, who plays Elijah Mikelson, and Matt Davis, who plays Alaric Saltzman, will also be heading to Birmingham, along with Teen Wolf and Superman star, Tyler Hoechlin.
