Driver in deadly Pittsburgh-area crash was nearly 3 times legal limit, authorities say
A Penn Hills man charged in connection with a deadly crash last year in Monroeville had a blood alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit, authorities said. In a post on Facebook on Monday, the Allegheny County Police Department said 49-year-old Marcus Alston Sr. is facing a list of charges — including homicide by vehicle, homicide by vehicle while DUI and involuntary manslaughter — in connection with the Nov. 3, 2024 crash that injured three people and killed one person. Just before midnight on Nov. 3, 2024, first responders were called to a crash on the 3700 block of Willian Penn Highway. At the scene, first responders learned that the driver of a Nissan Pathfinder had collided with the driver of a Toyota RAV4. Both vehicles had two occupants, and all four people were taken to local hospitals. Three were listed in stabled condition and one woman died at the hospital. Allegheny County police said the victim was identified as Shiya Young, who was a passenger in the Nissan. Allegheny County police said an investigation found the driver of the Nissan was speeding when it hit the Toyota from behind. Alston was the driver of the Nissan, authorities said. He had a blood alcohol content of 0.233 percent and had a suspended driver's license, Allegheny County police said. The legal limit is 0.08. He was also driving more than 90 miles per hour at the time of the crash, authorities said. The posted speed limit is 35 miles per hour in the area.

Car salesman reveals how to buy an automobile if you have ZERO credit score
A car salesman has revealed how you can buy a car even if you don't have a credit score. Russell Richardson, known as RussFlipsWhips on social media, is a salesman at Biondi Motor Company Inc. - a Lincoln dealer in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. He often posts advice for people looking to purchase new vehicles on his TikTok account, which has over 773,400 followers. In his latest viral video, the expert shared tips for customers to get approved for a automobile at a dealership even if they don't have good credit. 'First things first, if you have enough time, get a prepaid credit card,' he suggested in his video. 'This is the type of credit card where you can pre-load money onto it. You're going to use that every month for gas and groceries, and you're going to pay it off every month. 'In just six months, you will have credit built up.' For those who need to buy a car 'right now' and don't have six months to build up their credit, he said you can get approved by offering a huge down payment. 'First things first, you need to have money down. You've got to put skin in the game, or nobody's approve you with zero credit, because you have zero history of ever paying anybody back, so you need to bring some cash to the table,' he continued. He said that '20 percent down' is the ideal number. 'If you can't get that number, it's going to be a little bit tougher to get approved, it's not impossible, but the more you put down, the more likely you are to get approved,' Russell explained. According to the car salesman, being approved without credit has a lot to do with your job. 'You need to make sure you've been working at the same job for at least six months, ideally a year,' he detailed. 'If you've been working at your job for one month and you have no money down, you are not going to get approved. 'It's very unlikely. I'm not saying these things are impossible, but it's very tough to have that happen. Russell's last tip was about the type of car to search for. 'You're going to want to look at something that is well within your means,' he told viewers. 'Don't try to stretch out the biggest car payment you can get, try to get the smallest car payment you can get. 'You want to look at a car that is newer. It's 2025 right now, if you can afford a brand new Toyota Camry or Honda Civic, go buy something like that that is well within your means. 'If it's not [within your means], look at something that's four years [old] or newer - so 2021 or newer - with relatively low mileage and you'll have a really good chance at getting approved.' Many users rushed to the comment section to thank Russell for his advice. 'Solid advice,' one user wrote.

Terrifying moment Uber driver is carjacked by gunman before he ‘executed' her as she begged for her life
THIS is the chilling moment a gunman points a pistol at an Uber driver as she begs for her life before she is "executed". Senseless Calvin Crew was sentenced to life in prison without parole after the slaying of mum-of-four Christina Spicuzza, 38. 3 3 3 Harrowing footage captured shortly before the February 2022 murder shows the moment Crew enters the vehicle while Spicuzza is working. The 25-year-old is wearing a balaclava, concealing his identity, as well as a light hooded jacket. Recorded at about 9pm on February 10, the sick killer sits at the back of the taxi and waits for the innocent mum to drive on, before making the haunting threat. Crew draws a pistol, aiming it at the back of unsuspecting Spicuzza's head. The mum-of-four says: "You've got to be joking." But she quickly realises the severity of the situation before begging for her life. She pleads: "Come on, I have a family." But ruthless Crew ignores her desperate pleas, ordering her to "keep driving". 'Please take that off of me,' she says in the shocking footage. 'Do what I say and everything will be all right,' Crew tells her. The video ends when depraved Crew spots the dashcam recording and turns it off. Tragic Spicuzza was found two days after the video was recorded in a wooded area in Monroeville, having suffered a single gunshot to the head. The now convicted killer was arrested days later and charged with criminal homicide, robbery and tampering with evidence. The mum's family said they 'showed mercy' on the killer by asking the judge to spare him of the death penalty. The grieving relatives read impact statements to the court despite the killer failing to show up for his own sentencing. 'You should have the death penalty, but we showed mercy,' the victim's mum Cindy Spicuzza said. 'You executed her. No mercy, no remorse. It was abhorrent. It was murder.' Spicuzza's family had previously asked the court not to give Crew the death penalty. They confirmed before his trial began earlier this year that prosecutors said they would not seek capital punishment. Spicuzza's fiancé, Brandon Marto, emotionally blasted Crew in his statement for not mustering the courage to attend the sentencing. He said: 'No reason other than a coward. A coward who couldn't be here today to face this. 'Christy was everything for my family. I was lost, out of control. She saw something in me.' Marto added that he hoped Crew would 'rot and burn in prison'. The killer was also slapped with 13 to 26 years behind bars for kidnapping and robbery charges. Crew's defense attorney said that the convicted killer 'lived a childhood surrounded by violence and neglect'. Twisted Crew's lawyers indicated that he will appeal his conviction - and he maintains his innocence.
