Domestic call leads to seizure of $9K, drugs in Putnam County
PUTNAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — While responding to a call about a domestic situation in Putnam County Sunday, officers ended up discovering a significant amount of cash and drugs.
The Monterey Police Department said two officers arrived at the scene of the domestic call on Sunday, May 11 and spoke with the individuals involved. However, during the investigation, one of the officers reportedly noticed a male get out of a vehicle and toss a bag of narcotics in an attempt to hide it.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office came out to the scene with a K9. During a search, authorities said they found approximately 42.4 grams of a substance — which is believed to be methamphetamine and fentanyl — and $9,075 in cash inside the vehicle.
In a Facebook post shortly before 7:30 p.m. Sunday, officials said they wouldn't release any names at this time due to the ongoing investigation. Charges are currently pending.
