Police identify woman who died after Montgomery double shooting

Police have identified a woman who died after a double shooting early Sunday morning. Carmilla Taylor, 28, of Montgomery lost her life in the incident, police said. The Montgomery Police Department is investigating the case as a homicide. Officers and fire medics responded to the shooting at about 2 a.m. Sunday in the 2800 block of East South Boulevard, MPD Sgt. Tina McGriff said in an email. During the shooting, two women suffered life-threatening injuries. First responders took the women to a local hospital, where Taylor died. McGriff said officers are continuing to investigate the shooting and are not releasing any more information at this time. One pedestrian killed, another severely injured, Montgomery police say

Two vehicles struck two pedestrians Saturday night in Montgomery, killing one and inflicting life threatening injuries on the other, Montgomery Police Department Lt. David Wise said. At 8:42 p.m. May 24, MPD and fire medics responded to the 900 block of East South Boulevard on a service road. In a release, Wise described the scene as a "two vehicles vs two pedestrians accident." MPD has not yet identified the two pedestrians, both of whom are male. One was pronounced dead from his injuries. The other suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The investigation is ongoing, MPD Lt. David Wise said. No other details were immediately released by police.
