Friends and family set to celebrate Presley Chweneyagae's life at memorial service in Mahikeng

JOHANNESBURG - Friends and family are expected to gather at the Mmabatho Convention Centre on Tuesday morning to celebrate the life of actor Presley Chweneyagae. A memorial service is being held in Mafikeng, where the star was raised. Chweneyagae died last week of what the family confirmed was a respiratory issue. Another memorial service will be held in Pretoria on Wednesday ahead of his funeral on Saturday. Best known for his role in Oscar-winning movie Tsotsi , Chweneyagae was described by many as one of South Africa's finest actors. His co-star in the 2007 film, More Than Just a Game , Tshepo Maseko said "Cobreezy" – as he was affectionately known – was not afraid to try different roles. "Presley was very playful, non-stop, until they said stand by for the shoot, so it was very easy to lose your focus when you play alongside him, if you, yourself, are not a professional. He was quite a naughty actor who liked to steal the limelight from fellow actors but what a fun actor he was, what a fun performer, what a fine young man, who was not scared to try new things."
