Cyrus debuts album at close-knit fan event

In a cosy gathering at LA's Chateau Marmont, Miley Cyrus hosted a special event for fans in collaboration with TikTok. As per Variety, a 100-person audience attended the gathering to listen to Cyrus' upcoming album Something Beautiful, oblivious to the popstar's surprise performance after the album-listening party. Cyrus came in to debut a handful of songs from the album, such as End Of The World and More To Lose, along with a few fan favourites, including an impromptu rendition of her hit 2009 song The Climb, for an exclusive audience. Sharing the process of making Something Beautiful with her fans, Cyrus said at the beginning of the set, "I've been experimenting with this album for the past year or two by having these nights at Chateau. They were invite-only, super exclusive, just my closest friends and my family." She added that these sessions were effective in helping her discover the kind of album she was making. She credited Michael Pollack for his work on the piano and being her songwriting partner. She also gave a shoutout to Jonathan Rado on the guitar and Maxx Morando on the drums. Cyrus said she had to own the album with these three artists by her side. "Making the album and fully realising it all and watching it become this butterfly and have this metamorphosis, this evolution, it's so reflective of my life and everything that I'm experiencing. I pour that into the production," she said. "But at the heart of this album, it's just us, really. It's been us three in a room making this album for the past couple of years." Something Beautiful will be released worldwide on Friday, just days ahead of its visual film, which is scheduled for June 6.

Miley Cyrus is already promising an 'extremely experimental' follow-up to Something Beautiful

Miley Cyrus has promised an "extremely experimental" follow-up to 'Something Beautiful'. The 32-year-old singer will release her ninth studio album on Friday (30.05.25), but she's already looking ahead to the next one as she starts work on her milestone 10th LP. As reported by Rolling Stone magazine, she gave fans at an event at Hollywood's Chateau Marmont hotel a hint of what's to come. She told the small crowd: "My next album is about to be extremely experimental, so have fun with that. "'Something Beautiful' is just the appetizer." At the fan event, Miley performed some new tracks like 'Easy Lover', 'End of the World' and 'More To Lose', along with her 2023 hit 'Flowers'. She even treated fans to a bit of 'The Climb' from 2009's 'Hannah Montana: The Movie'. 'Something Beautiful' - which is a visual album - is set for release on May 30, while the film will receive its world premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival in June. So far, fans have heard a handful of the 13 new songs from the collection, all of which will be accompanied by new visuals that have been described as a "one of a kind pop opera". After releasing the title track 'Something Beautiful', Miley teased that the album marked "another bold artistic evolution" in her career. A statement on her Instagram account read: "Miley's second song and video release 'Something Beautiful', the title track off of the forthcoming album explores her deep connection to fashion showcasing an original custom design by Casey Cadwallader for the House of Mugler in the visual. "This era marks another bold artistic evolution for Miley, blending music and film into an immersive experience." 'Something Beautiful' - which Miley is co-executive producing with Shawn Everett - is the follow-up to 2023's 'Endless Summer Vacation'. The 'Flowers' hitmaker previously teased that the upcoming album was inspired by Pink Floyd's 'The Wall', and described it as a "healing" record. She explained to Harper's Bazaar: "My idea was making 'The Wall', but with a better wardrobe and more glamorous and filled with pop culture. "It's a concept album that's an attempt to medicate somewhat of a sick culture through music. "I would like to be a human psychedelic for people. I don't want anyone trying to be like me or imitate me or even be inspired by me. I want to impact frequencies in your body that make you vibrate at a different level."

Miley Cyrus's Brand New Song Can't Beat Her Years-Old Smash

Just days before her new album Something Beautiful arrives, Miley Cyrus delivered what appears to be the final promotional tune from the project: 'More to Lose.' Dropped with enough time to reach the Billboard charts before fans rush to buy and stream the full-length, the ballad sadly didn't perform very well via any major metric. One statistic, in particular, underlines just how lackluster a debut it has been forced to settle for. 'More to Lose' launches on the Billboard Global 200 this week at No. 168. The track doesn't manage to land on the accompanying list, the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., which is unusual, given the typical overlap between the two tallies. Cyrus fills two spaces on the Billboard Global 200 this week, and 'More to Lose' isn't the higher-ranking of the pair. Its predecessor, 'End of the World' — the lead single from Something Beautiful — isn't beating it either. Instead, 'Flowers,' the first taste of Cyrus's previous album Endless Summer Vacation, is winning at the moment. That blockbuster steps up three spaces on the Billboard Global 200 to No. 146 and performs even better on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., where it surges to No. 135. It's rather shocking that 'Flowers' is outperforming all of Cyrus's new music around the world. Not only does it beat 'More to Lose' in what will likely be that track's biggest frame on the tally, but it does so 122 weeks into its time on the Billboard Global 200. 'End of the World,' which received the bulk of the promotion might behind Cyrus this time around, peaked at No. 43 on the ranking, just missing out on the top 40. It then disappeared after just four stays on the list. 'More to Lose' doesn't fare much better when it comes to U.S.-focused charts. It only manages to appear on the Bubbling Under Hot 100, coming in at No. 5 on that ranking, which looks at the biggest hits in the U.S. that couldn't quite make it to the main Hot 100. 'End of the World,' meanwhile, may be reaching its zenith on the pop radio rankings. It keeps at its all-time high on both the Pop Airplay and Adult Contemporary charts while stepping up one spot to a new peak on the Adult Pop Airplay roster.

Miley Cyrus Misses The Singles Chart With Her New Song

Miley Cyrus's 'More to Lose' debuts at No. 5 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100, which means it ... More completely misses the main Hot 100 as it arrives. Several songs from the highly-anticipated project have already been pushed from the pop set, but so far, none have become breakout global successes — not the kind the superstar was likely hoping for. This week, the latest tune she shared from the full-length, a ballad titled 'More to Lose,' arrives on just one U.S.-based Billboard ranking, and not the one Cyrus is used to reaching. 'More to Lose' debuts on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 this time around. It launches at No. 5 on the tally, which ranks the most consumed tracks in America that have yet to crack the Hot 100, the main list of the biggest songs in the nation. Cyrus collects the loftiest debut on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 this week, beating new arrivals from stars like Blackpink singer Rosé, Fuerza Regida, and even the legendary Connie Francis, who is currently going viral with 'Pretty Little Baby.' Cyrus has now seen 20 songs peak inside the top 10 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100, which features 25 spaces. Some of those tracks have gone on to reach the main Hot 100, while others were forced to settle for this secondary placement, which serves as a bit of a consolation prize. The Grammy winner departed the Hot 100 just a few weeks ago, when 'End of the World,' the lead single from Something Beautiful, finally fell away. That tune spent just a month on the list and dipped to No. 93 on the chart dated May 10. At the moment, while Cyrus fills several spots on Billboard's global rankings, she doesn't appear on the main songs tallies in the U.S. 'End of the World' is still growing at pop radio, but overall consumption seems to have fallen. As it hits the Bubbling Under Hot 100, 'More to Lose' also appears on one of the two worldwide lists published by Billboard. The track enters the Billboard Global 200 at No. 168.

Miley Cyrus Performs Live Debut of ‘More to Lose' on ‘Kimmel'

Miley Cyrus brought raw vulnerability to Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday (May 22), performing her latest single 'More to Lose' in a striking, emotionally-charged moment on the late-night stage. Wearing a dark hooded coat and surrounded by a live band and string ensemble, the Grammy winner delivered a stirring rendition of the song beneath dramatic spotlights, echoing the somber, cinematic visuals from the track's music video released earlier this month. More from Billboard Tory Lanez Is Being Transferred to a New Prison After Being Stabbed, His Dad Says Aaron Paul Opens Up About Tracking Down Tour Managers to Get Bands to Perform in His Living Room Ye Claims He's 'Done With Antisemitism': 'Forgive Me for the Pain I've Caused' 'On a song like 'More to Lose,' I try to keep it a singular take,' Cyrus previously explained in a video shared to Instagram. 'I add my harmonies, ad-libs at the end, but it's really a song that's more of a story and I never want that to be interrupted or overthought or chasing perfection.' 'I never wanted More to Lose to feel perfect, I wanted it to sound meaningful and emotional,' she added. The performance arrives just one week before the release of Something Beautiful, Cyrus' highly anticipated ninth studio album, due May 30. The record is led by 'More to Lose,' April's 'End of the World,' and recent tracks 'Prelude' and the album's title track. It also features collaborations with Naomi Campbell and Brittany Howard. The pop star is set to debut a visual album companion to Something Beautiful at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 6. Described as 'a one-of-a-kind pop opera,' the film is directed by Cyrus with Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter. In a recent interview with Apple Music 1's Zane Lowe, Cyrus reflected on her journey to self-acceptance and sobriety — and how it shaped this new creative era. 'The sobriety is like, that's like my God. I need it, I live for it,' she said. 'It's changed my entire life.' Her 2023 smash 'Flowers,' which earned her her first-ever Grammys, served as the breakthrough. 'It was some sort of key right into the lock of all healing,' she added. With Something Beautiful, Cyrus continues that journey — and if 'More to Lose' is any indication, she's not shying away from the parts that hurt.
