Marhaba 2025 : Morocco boosts security, infrastructure, and health measures for smooth transit
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, announced on Tuesday at the House of Councillors that Operation Marhaba 2025 will primarily focus on ensuring smooth traffic flow, enhancing security and safety, providing close support, and maintaining heightened health vigilance. Speaking during the weekly oral questions session, Bourita stated that 29 ships from seven maritime companies will operate 12 routes from ports in Italy, France, and Spain. He added that a budget of approximately 28 million dirhams has been allocated to improve the reception infrastructure at the Tanger-Med port. The minister also emphasized that security and safety will be bolstered through enhanced border control mechanisms, while close support will be provided via 24 reception centers, including 18 within the country and 6 abroad. This will be in addition to the mobilization of additional human resources, in accordance with royal instructions. Furthermore, Bourita noted that consulates will operate from June 15 to September 15, as usual, with on-call services (Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays), highlighting that staff numbers will be increased and mobile consulates will be established. Health vigilance is also part of this comprehensive mobilization, with specialized teams present on roads and in rest areas, he continued, emphasizing that "the goal is to improve this operation year after year, to meet the ambitions of His Majesty the King." Bourita also recalled that preparations for this large-scale and unprecedented operation include several meetings of the National Transit Commission, chaired by the Ministry of the Interior, as well as a Moroccan-Spanish meeting held on May 29 in Cadiz, in addition to thematic sectoral meetings.

Boosting Moroccan diaspora investment : Key insights from the World Moroccan Economic Forum
The financing mechanisms for projects led by Moroccans Living Abroad (MLA) were the focal point of a panel held on Friday in Marrakech as part of the World Moroccan Economic Forum (FEMM). Experts, entrepreneurs, and financiers discussed the available solutions to support MLAs wishing to invest in Morocco. While there is a variety of tools—banking, public-private partnerships, or technical support—several speakers emphasized that many projects are not considered "bankable" by financial institutions due to a lack of structure or economic viability. Banks, while expressing their willingness to support the diaspora, are calling for more innovative, mature projects that align with market realities. The panel also advocated for simplifying administrative procedures, strengthening cooperation between banks, public institutions, and project leaders, as well as providing targeted support: practical training in management, project development, and financial management. The conclusion was unanimous: it is urgent to strengthen the investment ecosystem dedicated to MLAs to maximize their economic impact. Better access to financing and comprehensive support at each stage of development would attract more investments and boost the national economy. The FEMM brings together decision-makers, experts, and entrepreneurs to discuss major themes related to MLA investment, exploring ways to integrate these projects into local and regional dynamics.
