20-year-old Czech player hits out at trolls for targeting her mother on Mother's Day
20-year-old Czech tennis player Linda Noskova slammed online trolls after her loss to Russia's Mirra Andreeva at the Italian Open 2025 on Sunday, May 11. Noskova was defeated in straight sets, 6-1, 7-5, missing out on a spot in the pre-quarterfinals. In the aftermath, she took to social media to defend her mother, who had been targeted with hateful messages on Mother's everyone who mentioned my mom after my loss, especially on this Mother's Day: I truly hope you find compassion in your heart one day,' Noskova wrote.

Noskova began her campaign in Rome after beating Britain's Sonay Kartal in straight sets in the Round of 64. However, she couldn't step up against the 18-year-old Andreeva, who has won two WTA 1000 titles this year.
