Suniel Shetty's Daughter Athiya Shetty Quits Bollywood: 'I Am Not Interested'

Suniel Shetty has shared that his daughter, Athiya Shetty, has chosen to leave Bollywood and quit acting. In a recent interview, the veteran actor confirmed that his daughter is not interested in continuing her career in the film industry and feels comfortable stepping away from it.
'She said, 'Baba, I don't want to,' and she just left. And that's what I salute her for saying, 'I'm not interested. I don't want to do films.' After Motichoor Chaknachoor, a lot came her way. 'But I don't want to. I'm comfortable, you know?" Suniel Shetty told Pinkvilla, while promoting his upcoming movie, Kesari Veer.
Suniel also shared that Athiya is busy with her mommy duties now and added, 'She's got the best role of her life. You know, she's working in the best film, and that is the life, the role of her mother and she's loving it."
Previously, in an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha too, Suniel Shetty talked about Athiya not wanting to do films when he said, 'She does not want to do films. After she did Motichoor, she said 'I don't want to be a part of this'. She works really hard."

Athiya Shetty's Bollywood journey began with her debut film Hero (2015), a remake of the 1983 classic, where she starred alongside Sooraj Pancholi. Her performance received mixed reviews, but she caught attention for her charming on-screen presence. She then appeared in Mubarakan (2017), a comedy-drama about two friends who were born on the same day and got exchanged at birth.
In Motichoor Chaknachoor (2019), Athiya played a young woman eager to marry an NRI, showcasing her acting range and confidence.
On the personal front, Athiya tied the knot with KL Rahul in January 2023 at Suniel Shetty's Khandala farmhouse. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on 24th March, 2025. They shared a joint post on Instagram that read, 'Blessed with a Baby Girl. 24.03.2025. Athiya And Rahul."
