This very special 750S celebrates McLaren's 1995 Le Mans victory
This very special 750S celebrates McLaren's 1995 Le Mans victory Le Mans special edition limited to 50 units, gets cues from the title-winning '95 F1 GTR Skip 8 photos in the image carousel and continue reading Turn on Javascript to see all the available pictures. 1 / 8 It's been 30 years since the McLaren F1 GTR romped to victory at one of the wettest 24 Hours of Le Mans on record. Rather than a couple of candles, a cake and some party hats, McLaren is saluting it with this hunkered-down 750S special edition. In news that'll likely surprise, it's called the 750S Le Mans. There's a new 'High Downforce' kit, which, in more surprising news, offers increased downforce. It's been built in-house by the MSO modifications team, and includes a larger front splitter, a suction scoop on the roof, an active rear wing and a louvred under-wing panel. They combine to increase downforce by as much as 10 per cent. On an already quick car. Yikes. Those stoppers can of course be upgraded to stronger track-focused alternatives if you so wish. Final touches comprise titanium exhaust tailpipes and a choice of two body colours: 'Le Mans Grey' or 'McLaren Orange'. It's an equally simple decision for the interior: black leather with the option of grey or orange Alcantara inserts. You'll also get a dedicated build slot plaque and Le Mans logos along the headrest and floor mats. McLaren hasn't mentioned any revisions to the 740bhp mid-mounted 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, but in the non-High Downforce car that equates to 0-62mph in 2.8s and a 206mph top speed. Probably don't need more than that. Just 50 of these special 750S Le Mans cars will be sold at an as-yet undisclosed price. Likely far north of the standard car's £240k starting point, one would expect. Advertisement - Page continues below Top Gear Newsletter Thank you for subscribing to our newsletter. George Russell called out by Formula E driver Dan Ticktum in social media video
Formula E driver Dan Ticktum has swiped back after George Russell stated nobody else would copy Max Verstappen 's deliberate collision in Spain – apart from 'one British driver in Formula E.' Russell and his car escaped unscathed after Verstappen rammed into the Mercedes in the closing stages of the Spanish GP on Sunday. Russell finished fourth, while Verstappen was demoted from fifth to tenth after receiving a 10-second time penalty. Asked after the race if anybody else would drive deliberately into another car, 27-year-old Russell replied: 'Not in Formula 1. Maybe in Formula E. Yes, maybe there's one British driver in Formula E. But as I said, Max is one of the best in the world.' With the clear implication that the racer in question was 25-year-old Ticktum, the Kiro Race driver responded on his Instagram story in amusing fashion late on Sunday. 'It has come to my attention, via the Twittersphere, that a certain driver in Formula One, not to name names, but his name is George Russell, has made some rather choice comments about a certain Formula E driver,' Ticktum said, after finishing 16th in the second Shanghai ePrix race on Sunday. 'He hasn't named my name, but it's quite obviously pointed at me. I'd like to address those comments that he made. 'Number one, thank you for the free publicity. We'll take that any day of the week. 'And two, while what Max did today was a little bit sceptical, to be likened to him at any point in my career is positive, if you ask me. Goodbye.' Russell raced against Ticktum in karting, GP3 and Formula 2, before moving up to F1 in 2019 having won the F2 championship in 2018. Known for his outspoken manner in interviews and on team radio, Ticktum raced in F2 in 2018, 2020 and 2021, finishing fourth in his final season, before moving up to Formula E in 2022. Ticktum recorded his first podium, in Tokyo, last month.

Hamilton passed by Leclerc and Hulkenberg in another low point since joining Ferrari
MONTMELO, Spain — Lewis Hamilton's frustrating debut season with Ferrari hit a new low point during the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday. A sixth-placed finish wasn't bad, even for a seven-time world champion. But Hamilton again finished behind teammate Charles Leclerc, who was third, and had to endure his team telling him to get out the way for Leclerc.
