Britain's Got Talent winner Harry Moulding opens up about performing for 'magician' King Charles

Britain's Got Talent winner Harry Moulding has said he is feeling the pressure of performing his magic act in front of the King at the Royal Variety Performance because Charles is also a member of the Magic Circle. Moulding was crowned the ITV series winner on Saturday, 31 May and as part of his prize, which also includes £250,000, he will get to perform in front of the Royal Family at the theatre show later this year. The young magician revealed the surprising news that King Charles is also in the prestigious magicians' association while speaking to the Lorraine show on Monday, 2 June. The Britain's Got Talent final saw Moulding named as the 2025 series winner, with previous favourites LED dance troupe The Blackouts as runners-up. A delighted Moulding spoke to Lorraine host Ranvir Singh about his disbelief at the grand final result, saying he couldn't wait for his spot at the Royal Variety Performance. Moulding revealed there would be added pressure on him, saying: "King Charles is a member of the Magic Circle - the inner Magic Circle as well. He auditioned performing the oldest trick in magic, the cups and balls, so he's a magician himself. "I'd love the opportunity to meet him and maybe involve him. Hopefully, he'll be a fan of what I do. That adds a whole other level to the dynamic." Read more: 'I faced Britain's Got Talent fix allegations but they're a big compliment' 'The Britain's Got Talent change that's ruined it for me, the acts and everyone else' Britain's Got Talent judges reveal only audition that has ever terrified them Britain's Got Talent viewers saw Moulding looking stunned at his win, and talking about what happened after the show ended he said: "It was the most amazing chaos...I got to meet Eric, Simon's son...I was partying with KSI in the wrap party upstairs. It was just absolutely surreal." He added: "I still cannot believe it, it hasn't really sunk in yet. "It's just been a dream come true right since my audition, the whole process and journey that I've had has just been amazing." Moulding might have seemed cool, calm and collected on Saturday night, but he admitted that he had very real concerns about his act going wrong. He said: "With magic, especially on live TV, there's a massive chance that if one element of it goes wrong, the whole thing is game over, it's all ruined. So that helped build into the excitement and the fun of it. With it being live TV, anything can happen." Talking about his commitment to magic since being a child, he said: "At the age of 10 my life changed, from going out playing with my friends. They'd come and knock on for me and say Harry are you playing out, and I'd say no, I want to learn magic. I was absolutely loving being surrounded by all these tricks and props, it was just the best thing ever." Lorraine airs on ITV1 at 9am on weekdays.

Magician Harry Moulding crowned winner of Britain's Got Talent

He receives £250,000 and a spot in the Royal Variety Performance after winning the public vote. Moulding, 24, wowed the judges with his card trick act which featured a video of him skydiving out of a plane. Thanking his supporters, he said: 'I genuinely feel like everyone has been behind me. This has been the most incredible journey.' The Blackpool native was fast-tracked to the final after guest judge KSI hit the golden buzzer in the semi-final, which also saw him propose to his girlfriend. Dance group The Blackouts were this year's runners-up after performing a light show to hits by Robbie Williams and Take That. In third place was nine-year-old gymnast Binita Chetry. Choral group Hear Our Voice, made up of people impacted by the Post Office scandal, were the bookies' favourites heading into the final, but finished outside the top three. The programme, which was broadcast live from the Hammersmith Apollo after a week of five semi-finals, also saw performances from singer Stacey Leadbeatter, dance group Ping Pong Pang and guitarist Olly Pearson. A wildcard act introduced into the live final was revealed to be singers Han & Fran, who performed an Abba medley.

BGT audience member proposes to girlfriend as part of magician's semi-final act

Performing on the ITV talent show on Saturday, magician Harry Moulding, 24, has been fast-tracked to the final after guest judge KSI hit the golden buzzer for his act. Moulding, from Blackpool began his performance promising he would 'create a special moment of real magic for one person here in the audience'. Moulding then asked the judges to select a flash card and read out a seat number to select three people at random, with the corresponding audience member standing up and confirming their name. Simon Cowell was then told to open an envelope, which had been handed to guest judge KSI at the beginning of the act, and to read it out loud. A post shared by Britain's Got Talent (@bgt) He said it was 'spooky' – as it contained the same three seat numbers and audience names. The magician asked the three audience members to pick a different item on the list; a celebrity name, a three digit number and a location. The random names that were chosen were Bruno Mars, 178 and Paris. The act had begun with Moulding handing flash cards to celebrity judges Bruno Tonioli, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden. Each card had a list of different items written on them, including celebrity names, seat numbers, destinations around the world and three digit numbers. As he invited audience member Jess up on the stage, he said: 'Jess, all the decisions tonight have been completely random, but imagine if I told you that all of this was going to happen 48 hours ago, not possible?' A post shared by Britain's Got Talent (@bgt) The magician proceeded to play a pre-recorded video where he listed out each of the results, the seat numbers, celebrity names, the three digit number and destination that were made by the judges and audience members, revealing that he filmed the video in Paris with the Eiffel Tower visible in the background. He then paused the video when he starts speaking to a passer-by, who Jess recognises as her boyfriend, Harry. The video continues and Moulding asks Harry a series of questions, including if he is married, how many guests he would invite to his wedding, the singer of the first-dance song, and where he would get married. Harry said he would want around 178 guests – the same number chosen by a member of the audience earlier in the act; his first dance would be to a song by Bruno Mars, and that he would want to get married in Paris. He then looks into the camera and says: 'Jess I've got a question for you.' Moulding said: 'Before this all began, I told you that tonight I'll be creating a special moment of real magic for one person here in the audience. Well, that person is you Jess.' Harry then appeared on stage with a wedding ring and said: 'I love you more than anything. Will you do me the honour. Will you marry me?' Visibly emotional, Jess said yes, after which KSI pressed the golden buzzer sending Moulding straight to the finals, which to take place on Sunday May 31 in London. Also through to the finals was nine-year old gymnast Binita Chetry, voted for by members of the public. The acts who did not make it included singer CJ Emmons, 13-year old dancer Jerry Pop, stunt group Lazy Generation, magician Manho Han, and Red Panda with her extreme bowl-balancing act. The winner of Britain's Got Talent will win £250,000 and a spot on the Royal Variety Performance. Britain's Got Talent returns on ITV1 and ITVX next Saturday at 7pm.

Britain's Got Talent viewers divided after 'freaky' live marriage proposal

Britain's Got Talent fans are divided after a bizarre semi-final magic performance ended in a live marriage proposal. Harry Moulding, from Blackpool, began his performance promising he would 'create a special moment of real magic for one person here in the audience'. Harry then appeared on stage with a wedding ring and said: 'I love you more than anything. Will you do me the honour. Will you marry me?' Early in his act, Harry appeared to get the name of one of the fans wrong, which drew some funny comments online. @wendymaximoff wrote on X: 'Pretty sure her name is Constance not concert LMFAOOOO.' @TashAmaka added: 'Why's he calling Constance, Concert? #BritainsGotTalent #BGT.' Then, after one of the fans was proposed to, viewers could not contain their shock. @mariahscracker wrote on X: 'A wedding proposal in a magician act?! a lovely sweet moment. well done Harry. #BGT #BritainsGotTalent.' @Colabubble even said: 'And now I'm crying'. Meanwhile, @Teeej333 added: 'Omg how beautiful bgt love proposal this is so freaky.' However, not all fans were convinced by the 'random' nature of the act, as some viewers pointed out some clear inconsistencies. @Sutherwood claimed the act was: 'Fake Fake Fake.' @Lucy86114430 also wrote: 'Hold on, so if he already met with jess's boyfriend, then he knew what seat was jess was gonna be in which means he knew what seat the judge would pick??? Not random at all then #BritainsGotTalent.' This is far from the first time BGT has been caught up in speculation about not everything being as it seemed. Earlier in the series, singer Max Fox suddenly interrupted the final round of Britain's Got Talent 2025 auditions, stepping out from the crowd so he could sing. The amateur performer said to Simon: '19 years I've been trying to get in front of you, and I've never, ever had that chance.' He continued, asking the music and TV mogul, 'Can you give me one opportunity?' before insisting he could show the nation 'what [he's got]'. Despite singing an impressive rendition of Frank Sinatra's My Way, some viewers believed it was fixed, leading to Max having to shut down the claims. More Trending Max appeared on This Morning to say: 'The day before, I got some free tickets for the auditions – three rows back from the panel. It was just in the moment – there was some old dears behind me and I asked them if I should ask Simon if I can sing.' The long-running reality competition series returned for another outing earlier this year to showcase the UK's best variety acts — from powerhouse singers to astonishing performance groups. And after weeks of build-up, we have almost completed our lineup of finalists, which includes Blackouts, Vinnie McKee, Ping Pong Pang, and Hear Our Voice.
