Heads of Olympic Committee and IMN discuss ways to develop Iraqi sports

The head of the Iraqi National Olympic Committee, Aqeel Muftin, discussed with the head of the Iraqi Media Network and the president of the Karkh Sports Club, Karim Hamadi, a number of vital sports files that are of interest to the Iraqi sports, especially the national team's preparations for the World Cup qualifiers. In a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Muftin emphasized 'the importance of strengthening partnerships with media institutions to support the sports movement, pointing out that Iraqi sports urgently need a comprehensive development strategy that contributes to the continuity of the brilliance of athletes and the development of the capabilities of national teams.' Muftin said: 'The next stage will witness a new start in sports work in various aspects, based on scientific planning and investment in young energies,' he said. For his part, the head of the Iraqi Media Network praised the efforts of the Olympic Committee, emphasizing its prominent role in restoring Iraqi sport to its right track and keeping pace with the developments taking place in the global sports arena. He stressed 'the need for concerted efforts and teamwork to correct the course of Iraqi sports, overcome challenges, and achieve the aspirations of sports fans during the next phase.' The meeting was attended by Olympic Committee financial secretary Sarmad Abdullah, sports advisor Hawar Mulla Mohammed, former international player Laith Hussein, and Iraqi Football Federation member Ahmed Al-Musawi.
