Man found after vanishing during hike in Gombak
GOMBAK: Muhammad Daniel Zulkepli, who went missing while hiking at Bukit Lagong yesterday, was found by the public today after nearly 15 hours.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Assistant Director of Operations, Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar, said his department received a report about the incident at 6.08 pm yesterday.
He said a vehicle and personnel from the Selayang Fire and Rescue Station were deployed to the scene.
"According to a report by the operations commander, a 26-year-old local man is believed to have gone missing while hiking with two of his friends.
"The victim was last contacted at 1.41 p.m. yesterday, according to his friends and the Disaster Control Centre (PKB) that was set up at the location," Mukhlis said in a statement today.
He added that the latest update from the scene reported that the victim was found by members of the public at 6.50 a.m. this morning.
He said the rescue team is on their way to the location to bring the victim down from the hill.
